HEALTHY GROCERY HAUL | 4.30.25

Hi you guys! This week's grocery agenda is adding in more protein while still aiming for a calorie deficit. It's probably no surprise I tend to keep the staples consistent (eggs, produce, deli meat, bread, etc.) so a lot of this week's haul is the same old, same old. Ya'll know I had to hit up the good ole Publix too and while I resisted most of the BOGOs this week, one I couldn't pass up was the Hero Bread and Tortillas! These are my fave fave fave- the nutrition is great, they're made with clean ingredients + still taste really good. The only downside is the price, womp womp. They're definitely worth the splurge in my book though and every once in awhile, we get lucky and can snag them for half off at Publix!

I always try to stock up so I grabbed a few loaves of the Seeded Bread and a few packs of the Tortillas! If you can't find in store, you can also order them online here. Love this variety pack

I also want to get a little more creative with upping my protein so I bought into the cottage cheese craze. I doubt you'll catch me eating it as is but I'm OK with the idea of blending it in with something, lol. Maybe with eggs or a sauce?? We will definitely see, hah.

I also grabbed a few bags of Quest chips and the Barebells Protein bars in Salty Peanut + Chocolate Dough.

WEEKLY PUBLIX HAUL | 4.16.25

Welcome back to another weekly Publix Haul, ya'lllllll. They really did the d*mn thing this week with these Easter BOGOs. I was tempted by at least another 5-10 items from the sale but if you don't buy it, you won't eat it haha. Other than blacking out in the baking aisle for cookie mix, *most* things are on the healthy spectrum and actual food I can eat (aka not just snackies).

It's also always a good time when you can find staples on sale- this week that was all of the produce + greek yogurt. I'm an Oikos girl but since Chobani was on sale, we'll give it a go. I also love a good easy peasy salad mix for dinner. The Pear Gorgonzola one is very good if you like a fruity salad vibe. I haven't tried the Truffle Caesar before but I don't think I've ever regretted trying anything with truffle.

My impulse buys of the day were the Savannah Bee Honeys- I grabbed the Honey for Cheese and the Whipped Honey with Cinnamon. PS- if you like hot honey, their's is so bomb.

Alright the cookie biz is what we call MODERATION. Sometimes you just need a lil' sweet treat, you know? Also putting Reese's in peanut butter cookies is ALWAYS the move- trust!

WEEKLY PUBLIX HAUL | 4.2.25

Welcome back to a lil' random Publix haul this week. I've been avoiding Publix like the plague lately because every time I step foot in there, I always end up impulse buying fifty bucks worth of snacks and only one or two actual "food I can cook" items. They always get me with those d*mn BOGOs... iykyk I guess. That's pretty much what happened this week too- they lured me back in with false promises of a party size bag of Wavy Lays chips. Despite the chip devastation, I didn't leave empty handed (listen to me talking like I ever have, LOL), so in the hopes of one day earning back my $33 in ad revenue, here's a little haulie haul for ya. ðŸ˜œ

I did actually go in with a list this time which helped me buy more actual food and just a few snackies. This week's BOGOs had some Italian vibes going which we always love. I love the Buitoni fresh pastas so I always grab a few of them whenever on sale. I was also feeling a Carbone spicy rigatoni vibe so I grabbed some rigatoni pasta and this Spicy Vodka sauce from Botticelli. Also for whatever reason, I always want to buy Ricotta cheese whenever they put it on BOGO?? I never actually buy it but I always have grand envisions of using it in a recipe. What recipe that will be is up in the air right now but for once I actually bought some, haha. During the winter I wanted to try out a lasagna soup but this hot weather kind of kills my soup mood.

The last few things were some protein staples and green beans. I also indulged a bit with some ice cream and these Cinnabon swirl masterpieces. I couldn't resist, ya'll. I've wanted to try them before and because they are *only* 270 calories versus like 800, I figured why the hell not? Sounds like a nice little weekend breakfast treat, lol. We'll see if they're any good! I also have a long term love affair going with the Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Bean. It's exceptionally good and definitely the best in the game that I've tried. You can usually find it on BOGO every couple of weeks so I like to grab a pint every so often. Delish!

HEALTHY GROCERY HAUL | 1.17.25

I'm officially back in the groove with healthier eating, ya'll. One of my January goals has been to dial it back a bit on the snackies/junk food/sugar + to up my daily protein intake. This week I also started tracking my calories to cut back with a small deficit. After indulging over the holidays, it feels good to start a new routine and eat cleaner.

It's always an adjustment to go from eating whatever you want to being a little more restrictive. I love food and all the yummy things! Once you can get into a consistent routine, though, it becomes so much easier. For me, planning out meals I like to eat but that also fit within my goals makes it manageable. Keeping things simple is also key. If you can focus on what you like (and will realistically eat) and stick with it, it's pretty fool-proof.

Actually having the food you want to eat on hand helps too, lol. Because you all seem to really like my foodie content, here's my mini "healthyish" haul of the week. I mostly grabbed some staples for lunches + dinners at home. I will make breakfast at home some too, however most days I'm running out the door and it's just easier to order something out. I'm not a morning person so I like that I can mobile order when I leave the house and my order is usually ready by the time I get there. I usually stick to egg bites + coffee- it doesn't totally blow up my nutrition for the day and I still feel like I'm indulging a bit!

Most of lunch has been yogurt parfaits + deli meat/cheese. Deli meat is always a controversy but it's easy peasy and packs a big punch for high protein + lower calories. I like to do roll-ups or throw it in some Hero Bread or a Hero tortilla. I also like to add this peanut butter powder in to my yogurt for some extra protein! Dinner is the typical protein, veggies + carb combo. Most of this week that has been Italian grilled chicken, baby potatoes and French green beans. I've also gotten a little more snackie in the evenings from eating less so I picked up a bag of my fave Lesser Evil popcorn. It's seriously so good + a great healthy snack. My two favorites are the Himalayan Gold + Himalayan Sweetness. It tastes great, has healthy ingredients and is a lower calorie/higher volume snack so you can eat quite a bit without killing your calories.

HEALTHY GROCERY HAUL | 1.3.25

It's time to jump on the healthy train, ya'll. After way too much indulging during the holidays, I'm excited to jump start the new year with eating a little bit cleaner and re-centering my health and fitness. Ya'll know I always preach "everything in moderation" which hasn't changed, however I am making an active choice to eat more protein + veggies while cutting back on sugar + snackies.

It's also better for me to focus more on being consistent versus going overkill. Extreme diet changes aren't usually sustainable so I like to find a balance between eating the good things and allowing myself to still enjoy treats.

Having New Year's Day in the middle of the week is kind of a weird setup for starting off with new goals + habits. I definitely took advantage of my last few hurrahs this week before switching to a new mindset yesterday. Since it's a shorter week, I just picked up a few staples.

Eggs, a breakfast protein, greek yogurt + some type of berries always in my healthy food lineup. They make breakfasts and lunches easy and no fuss. You can also never go wrong with the gym bro meal for lunch + dinner, haha. This week I grabbed some chicken for dinner with baby potatoes and green beans. So easy to pop in the air fryer, healthy + delish!

Ya'll already know my love for Hero bread, too. It's so good and very healthy with high protein, high fiber + lower calories. I also love that it has good ingredients-- that can be hard to find in healthier options that also still taste delicious. I love the seeded bread and the tortillas. I use them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks. The toast with peanut butter is one of my favorite snacks for lower calorie with a little extra protein. It's a splurge and not available in all grocery stores, however you can order it online here. Both are also linked in my the "Snackies" section of my storefront here. You can also buy variety pack bundles to try out a mix of their different products. I want to try the croissants and the Hawaiian rolls soon!

END OF THE WEEK SNACKIES | PUBLIX HAUL

My love for Publix BOGOs has struck again- this week with all the snackies + junk food. Aunt Flo also stopped in for a visit and is clearly a bad influence, lol. Lately I've been on a peanut butter cookie kick and dying to try out this new recipe-- looks so bomb if you like Butterfingers. You can always count on Publix to do a BOGO on Peter Pan so I picked up a new jar for the cookies. Sometimes you also just need a little quickie so it's always good to have Betty around- easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I'm also fully embracing the summertime s'mores vibes. I just saw a recipe for air fryer s'mores yesterday so walking by the s'mores endcap was really a full circle moment. With the 4th coming up, everything was on sale so we grabbed all of the classics + an extra pack of Reese's for good measure. Add in my rogue box of honey bunches and that sums up my very wild Friday night, hehe.

What's your go-to snack?

Alright, ya'll. I pretty much blacked out in Publix this week with the Kodiak products. Lately I've been working on boosting my daily protein intake and for quick and easy packaged items, I love the Kodiak brand. Their chewy bars + the Cinnamon Oat pancake mix are delish! This week all of the pancakes mixes, frozen waffles & bars were all included in the Publix Weekly BOGO sale which ya'll know I also have an obsession with. Who knew that the excitement of adulthood would come from scoring deals at the grocery store? Honestly one of my favorite parts of the week is checking the weekly sales at my go-to spots.

Most of this week is Kodiak + random snacks items, however I also grabbed a few supplementary items that were also on sale too like butter and fruit for my greek yogurt. I'm still in pretty good shape with my staple breakfast/lunch items so this week I decided to just stock up on the fun things. I also am really excited to try these dessert hummus-- have you had them? I've never been a big fan of regular hummus so I'm curious how these will taste! I also try to avoid liquid calories unless it's a coffee here and there but I couldn't resist theses baby Mott's bottles this week-- seriously SO cute. I'm obsessed. I loved Mott's AJ as a kid so I thought I'd grabbed a pack for a little throwback treat.

MINI PUBLIX HAUL | 6.12.23

One of my current obsessions has been checking the weekly Publix ad for deals + their BOGO specials. Everyone always throws out those "adulting" jokes when it comes to groceries and vacuums but it's not for nothing, ya'll. One- who doesn't like finding their favorite items on sale? Two- it's also a great way to find new things to try out. Publix in general has a great selection of products that you can't always find everywhere else.

This week I didn't really need much so most of this was on impulse. I was motivated to go because both the Purely Elizabeth granola + Lily's Toaster Grills were on sale. I love the granola and at $6-7 a bag normally, I had to stock up on a few. Most flavors were sold out but I was able to snag a Vanilla Chocolate Chip + Original. Both sound super yummy. I also haven't tried these Toaster Grills sandwiches but I'm always a sucker for a grilled cheese. I found them in the freezer aisle + you just pop them right in the toaster. Hopefully they'll be delish for a quick + easy meal or snack.

Strawberries + blueberries are always a staple for yogurt bowls + I needed a few more breakfast ingredients. I really liked the Greenfield ham I bought in my last haul which I put in omelets, breakfast pockets, scrambled eggs, etc. I also grabbed a few of these England's Best Omelets for convenience. Some days I wake up too late to cook + these I can quickly make when I want to avoid eating out. I also recently downloaded the YUKA app and ya'll-- talk about a heartbreaker when it comes to your favorite foods. I can usually tell if something is relatively "good" or "bad," however I was SHOOK that Sargento cheese was one of the worst ranked items I scanned!

I've heard it's best to purchase blocks of grass-fed cheeses so I'm going to try out the Truly Aged Cheddar + grate it myself. I'm by no means perfect with everything I purchase (still had to have those Toaster Grills, lol) but I'm trying to make small improvements here and there when I can. I also grabbed a bag of mozzarella pearls on sale too. I've been seeing a ton of pasta salad recipes for summer + want to make my own with tortellini.

A HEALTHYISH PUBLIX GROCERY HAUL

healthy-publix-grocery-haul-the-Kristen-Diary-blog

Are you still keeping up with your 2023 New Year's resolutions? We are one week down already! One of mine is to work on eating a little bit healthier/cleaner and at home more. My lifestyle has always been centered on mostly eating out for meals, especially during the holidays when my schedule is busier. Now that things have calmed down a little, I'm looking for easy things I can make for breakfast and lunches. I struggle a lot of the times to come up with ideas for one person that don't involve meal prepping the same thing for five days in a row.

I also think it's important to work on building sustainable change so I'm starting small with how often I eat at home + the types of food. Always a fan of everything in moderation! I did a little Sunday night Publix run and grabbed a few things for this week. We'll call it a semi-healthy haul? Here's what I picked up:

THE GOODS
+ TERIYAKI CHICKEN BREAST
+ GREEK YOGURT
+ HONEY BUTTER
+ ORGANIC BLUEBERRIES
+ SPINDRIFT SPARKLING WATER
+ MINI BAGELS
+ SUPER COFFEE
+ HONEY CINNAMON PEANUT BUTTER

Usually for a leaner breakfast I like to make some version of eggs + turkey sausage. Occasionally I'll add in some carbs too, usually a slice of sourdough. I also love bagels but they can be pretty calorie heavy when I'm trying to moderate so I grabbed these Thomas mini bagels. Can we talk about HOW CUTE they are?! Adorableeeeee, I'm obsessed. I also remember eating them as a kid, hahahah! Usually I just buy the plain for at home but cinni raisin was calling my name this time!

For some other breakfast/lunchie options I grabbed Greek yogurt, organic blueberries, peanut butter and an iced coffee. The Oikos Triple Zero is my favorite Greek yogurt-- it has a higher protein content, no added sugar and I like how it tastes. I love the Mixed Berry flavor + also grabbed Strawberry Banana to try. Danielle on Tik-Tok also influenced me on the RX Honey Cinnamon PB! I'm excited to try it with the bagels or on bananas. Any chance you've tried Super Coffee before? This was a total impulse buy that looks really good. I love iced coffee + it has zero added sugar, 10g of protein, MCT oil and is only 70 calories per bottle. Not bad!

Alright, lunch is typically where I struggle. I thought this week I would try out a chicken/rice/veggie vibe so I picked up Teriyaki marinated chicken breasts that you can just pop into the oven or cook in a pan. I already have rice and sweet potatoes (will use the honey butter on them!) so hopefully it will be a quick + easy lunch. The Spindrift purchase is my attempt to kick my Diet Coke habit?? TBH I don't know if I ever see myself giving it up completely but I would definitely benefit from cutting back some. I'm well aware of the negatives + I think part of it for me is having something carbonated and fizzy. I'm telling myself that at least, lol. I've never been a big fan of regular flavored water but I'm willing to give the sparkling a go. I was attracted to Spindrift because it has minimal ingredients + seems cleaner than some of the other options. I'll report back how it is!

If you have any go-to meals or recipes that aren't too complicated to whip up during the work week, please send them my way!!

What's your go-to healthy meal?

PUBLIX HAUL | 10.9.22

I ventured down to Publix this week to stock up on Tru-fru Raspberries (total essential-- the dark chocolate is SO good) and walked out with a bunch of random (and mostly unnecessary) items. If you love a good grocery haul, this post is for you! I love to see hauls and the types of food people buy, snacks, you name it.

A few staples like sourdough, fruit + some lunch items make me feel a litttleeeee better about mostly buying junk, lol. They always get you with the BOGO at Publix! I had zero intentions of buying them but the cookie dough and cinnamon rolls were too good to pass up. I figured in the spirit of the holidays, why not? They're a nice little treat when it's cold out + you just want some suga suga. I'm also finally trying the Veetee rice thanks to Sammy Pur's recommendation! She always raves about it on Tik-tok so I'm giving the Thai Jasmine a whirl.

RANDOM PUBLIX FINDS
+ Tru-fru Dark Chocolate Raspberries
+ Organic blueberries
+ Fruit and Nut Salad
+ Primal Kitchen Green Goddess Dressing
+ Veetee Thai Jasmine Rice
+ Rustik Oven Sourdough Bread
+ Pillsbury Cookie Dough (I grabbed chocolate chip + Reese's PB to make those little Reese/cookie cups during Christmas!)
+ Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls (always yum-- love the butter cream icing!)

What are your guilty pleasures at the grocery store? Mine are always the Tru-fru and the Ben & Jerry's cookie dough bites!
