HEALTHYISH SNACK HAUL | 4.24.24

My munchie drawer was in desperate need of some sprucing so I went on a little snack spree this evening. I loveee a good snack haul, especially with some healthy finds. It still has to taste good though! Healthy doesn't always translate to tasty but if I'm gonna eat it, it better taste good. With a little trial and error, we've found a few gems over the years. Today's haul is a mix of some faves + newbies.

We'll start with the one thing that isn't a snack in today's haul, although arguably it very well can (and probably should be)- eggies. Funny enough, I watched a TikTok earlier recommending eggs as an afternoon snack, lol. Definitely a great option but I tend to save mine for meals + Fresh Market had a great deal on the Vital Farms 18-count. Always a staple for me and I like to grab them when they're on sale!

Alright, on to the goodies. This whole thing started because I saw (once again thanks to TT) that Siete has a new Strawberries & Cream cookie out. I love both the Wedding and Mexican Shortbread cookies so I had to try. I also snagged a new bag of the Little Secrets Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Wafers which are delicious + something new- French Squirrel Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates. Despite all the healthy dessert recipes I've seen with dates, I've only ever had them in a regular date bar. It's giving healthy snickers vibe so I'm intrigued.

To stay salty, two more rebuys I always love are the Quinn Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels and some classic Mini Pretzels from The Fresh Market line. I've also been having a bit of a beverage moment and recently tried this Grape Good Mood Soda from Rowdy Mermaid. I was a little skeptical since these are lower in sugar and on the healthier side, however they actually taste great. I personally liked the Grape flavor and that they have ashwagandha so I can calm the f*ck down. Lol.

Okay, I might have lied- the last few things are also walking the line between breakfast and snack. I'd even go so far to say more dessert snack for these Evergreen Peanut Butter & Banana waffles. I haven't tried these before but the packaging + extra protein grabbed my attention. They also have a Carrot Cake Zucchini flavor that sounds good too! Greek yogurt is on constant rotation for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I also love a drinkable yogurt/smoothie vibe so these Pillars yogurts look interesting. They're drinkable with no added sugar, pre & probiotics, 20g of protein per bottle and 100 calories each. It's also a pretty good size at 12 ounces. If they taste as good as the Too Good Smoothies, they'll be a major win for the amount of protein + calories.

What's your go-to snack?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 4.22.24

weekly-to-do-list-april-2024-the-Kristen-Diary-lifestyle-blog-oval-pink-soft-gel-x-nails

The current vibe-- what should I do tomorrow?

Today was definitely an "It's a Monday" kind of Monday. Between an early workout and a busy work day, I'm counting down the seconds until I'm back in my bed. Because I always have Tuesdays off, one thing I like to do on Monday nights is map out my to-do list for the rest of the week. I usually make a quick list in my notes app with any appointments or errands I have for the week. I also always feel the need to disclaim that these are random, "non-work" extracurricular activities or tasks I want to prioritize. Although I wouldn't mind it one bit, there is definitely a lot more going on in my days than what's on these lists. Counting down the days until I'm a hot SAH pilates mom! Lol ;) Back to my fun errands- they tend to be pretty monotonous, however every so often I find a wild card thrown in there. I guess we're all creatures of habit, huh? Also recurring is another pickle with Orangetheory that I've once again gotten myself into.

I've developed a bad habit of procrastination with my workouts this year and like to play a little game where I leave the majority of my class packs until the last week. This time that was five classes to do in eight days, LOL. I thankfully drug my butt out of bed this morning and knocked it down to four. I really need to get my sh*t together but until then, OTF is a top priority for this week. My game plan is to knock out at least two more classes this week- in a perfect world, three. That will leave me with just one or two for next week.

Also a top priority this week is to rest + get more sleep. I've been staying up way too late these last few weeks which I'm sure hasn't helped my gym motivation. Laundry + a sheet change is always on the list and I have a few returns to send back.

On to the fun- I have a nail appointment tomorrow which I'm very excited for! I always enjoy the experience and love freshening them up + changing to a new color. I'm also excited to start a new book this week, I just haven't decided which one yet. I took a bit of a hiatus after starting Credence and it's been a good month or so now. Ya'll, the book is just A LOT. I definitely have some mixed feelings, lol. I just needed a bit of a break and I think I need to dive into something a little more wholesome, haha. Right now I'm either thinking a Harry Potter re-read or On Dublin Street which is another cute (and a little steamy but not Credence steamy) romance.

I'm probably forgetting something but as of now, that's most of my random errands for this week!

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR BLOG POSTS | 4.15.24

I swear it feels like I JUST posted last month's "top 5" post... can you believe we're halfway through April??? Ya'll know I'll die on this hill but what a blur this year has been. Like every month, here is a round-up with this month's top five most popular blog posts here on TKD. I hope you enjoy them + find a little inspo if you need it.

1. OURA RING UNBOXING - If I haven't convinced you to purchase an Oura Ring by now, all hope is probably lost lol. It's one of my best splurge purchases + I wear and use mine to track my sleep every single day. For the full 411, be sure to check out this unboxing- I share my first impressions, ordering experience + more.

2. BEAUTY HAUL + 2024 ULTA/SEPHORA BIRTHDAY GIFTS - I've definitely been on a makeup buying kick lately. If you enjoy hauls + the yearly birthday gifts at Sephora and Ulta, this post might be a good one to check out! ;)

3. DESTINATION DISNEY! DIY DISNEY GIFT BASKET + DISNEY ESSENTIALS - Okay, it's been a minute since I've seen this blog post pop up. A few years ago my sister went on a girls trip to Disney so I made this DIY basket for her birthday that year. It was a fun little DIY project with all things Disney! If you're planning a trip or know someone who is, I think making a basket with some go-to essentials is a great idea for a gift or to treat yourself.

4. ULTA BEAUTY 50% OFF SEMI-ANNUAL SALE PICKS | WEEK 2 - Boohoo that the Ulta sale is now over but did anyone shop it?? I may or may not have picked up a few new things... hehe. I did a blog post for each week of the sale but apparently the week 2 picks were the most interesting, haha.

5. GRAPHIC TEES I LOVE FOR SRING - One thing I'll never get tired of is a good graphic tee. I love the vibe + they instantly upgrade an outfit. They also scream spring and summer to me-- you can't beat a good tee + cutout shorts look IMO. Here are some of my current faves + the ones I have my eye on!

SPRING BLOG POST ROUND-UP

If you happen to love all the spring things, today's post is a little round-up with all of the spring blog posts on TKD from this season. Ya'll know I love a good round-up! I think it's a nice way to organize posts together, especially since they tend to go up non-sequentially over the span of several weeks/months. This year I've mostly been posting spring style with a little splash of beauty + travel. PS- do you have any big vacay plans this year? If so, consider me jealous!

As always, each individual post is linked below + I'll keep updating the list as new spring content goes up. Is there anything else you want to see? Tell me whatcha want, whatcha really really want! -xx :)
