Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty are back, just in time for fall. It should be no secret by now that I'm a huge fan of their 21 Day Beauty event. The event runs for 21 days so I always like to share my favorite picks from each week. Here are the products on my radar for Week 1:

FALL READING KICK OFF: WHAT I WANT TO READ

Fall is right around the corner which means mentally, I've been ready for weeks. I always start planning out all of the things I want to do, eat, watch + read when it comes to fall. I need all the cozy vibes! Some things are just fall coded, too, like Gilmore Girls and Pumpkin Spice. They've been assigned to the fall labeled box and that is that. Certain books are that way for me, too. I've started a mini reading list to kick off my fall reading next month.

If you're getting what I'm putting down, you already know anything Harry Potter or Twilight is a given. Call it nostalgia or those gloomy days in Forks, it's just the vibe, ya know? I've definitely been all in the nostalgia lately, too. I jumped the gun a little early and started a re-read/re-watch of the entire Harry Potter series back in June which has made my summer. I'm currently page deep in Goblet of Fire which means Order of the Phoenix fits in perfectly on my little fall reading kick off. I've also been having a little Twilight itch... I was thinking of just watching the movies but currently I've talked myself into re-reading the book.

I'm also excited to read In the Company of Witches this year. I didn't end up reading it last year so I'm putting it at the top of my list as well as a newer release, The Spellshop. This one just seems fitting for fall + Halloween with a feel good, fantasy vibe.

You can read the synopsis + shop each book by clicking on the title below:

+ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

MY PICKS FROM RING CONCIERGE'S 20% OFF SALE

Graduated Diamond Layering Necklace // Luxe Diamond Tennis Necklace // Chain Reaction Trio Set // Open Gold Wrap Bangle // Classic Diamond Tennis Bracelet // Baguette Bezel Bangle // Graduated Diamond Huggies // Diamond Wrap Ring // Double Panther Gold Ring

Diamonds are always a good idea, especially when they're on sale. One of my favorite places to browse and shop for fine jewelry is the Ring Concierge. They have some beautiful pieces with fresh, modern designs and all of the classics. They also only offer a sale on their jewelry a few times a year so if you just happen to be in the market for something sparkly, it is your lucky weekend! Starting on Sunday, early access to the sale opens up for 20% off site wide. This typically excludes a few items like classic diamond studs + engagement rings, however pretty much everything else is fair game. It also just so happens that I LOVE picking out pretty gems and with pieces as beautiful as theirs, obviously I have amazing taste. đŸ˜‰ Here are my top picks!

What's your favorite Ring Concierge piece?

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR BLOG POSTS | 8.16.24

I would be a little sad about August already being halfway over if it weren't so d*mn hot around here. It's too much, ya'll. All I have to say is that once we get into the BER months, Mother Nature better get it together! This halfway point always means it's time for a little blog round-up with the most popular posts here on TKD from the last month. I know it doesn't really make sensed that I always share these halfway through the month versus at the end, however I kinda like it like that. It started out that way and just stuck, ya know? On a technicality, that really just means these are the most popular posts from the last thirty days but anywho- here they are!

1. REVIEWING YASSO GREEK YOGURT BARS - The perfect summer treat are these Yasso Greek Yogurt Bars. They are so yummy and a healthier alternative to regular ice cream. For the full info, be sure to check out this review and definitely go pick yourself up some ASAP!

2. OURA RING UNBOXING - I'm not sure how much more I can say to sell you on the Oura Ring- maybe this post will help. I wear mine everyday and absolutely love.

It's no secret that the MAC Prep + Prime is a holy grail of mine- I have loved and repurchased it countless times since first buying it in this post!

5. SUNDAY FOREVER FRAGRANCE UNBOXING - If you're looking for some fun summer fragrances, these Sunday Forever scents are so good. I love the vibe of coconuts in the warm summer months!

WEEKLY CRUMBL | 8.12.24

Happy Monday, ya'll. What better way to kick off the week than with a little Crumbl Cookies review? These are from last week's lineup so I'm a tad late with this post but they were too good not to share. I've told you before that I usually have an all or nothing approach when it comes to Crumbl. Basically I have to be excited by all of the week's flavors in order to commit to them. Last week's definitely grabbed my attention with the brand new German Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Ice Cream Bar, Mint Chip Ice Cream, Monster ft. M&M's and Blueberry Crumb Cake.

I was the most excited by the new German Chocolate Cake. I love that Crumbl is adapting the menu- it's fun, fresh and exciting. One of my favorite Crumbl flavors is the German Chocolate cookie so I was all over this one and would say it was pretty solid. Very rich and decadent. In a perfect world, I could have used more of the coconut frosting with the amount of cake but in taste, it was pretty spot on and very yum!

I was also excited about the Strawberry Ice Cream Bar which ended up being just okay. The strawberry flavor is definitely on the artificial side but not super strong. I would generalize this one as just being really sweet and more of a sugar cookie with a hint of strawberry. Presentation wise, very cute + representative of the ice cream bars.

The last three I enjoyed pretty equally. No wow factors for me but all yummy. The Blueberry Crumb Cake was super crumb cake in my mind and definitely more of just a lemon blueberry cookie. I'm hit or miss with both of these flavors but enjoyed this one and the glaze on top. The Monster Cookie was more or less a chocolate chip cookie with M&Ms and the occasion hint of peanut butter. Good flavor, nothing outlandish. I also liked the Mint Chip Ice Cream- I've never been a huge mint fan but it was sweet and not too overpowering. Definitely not as good as the Andes Mint in my mind but lighter and refreshing.

I've eaten my weight in way too many cookies this past weekend, I need to skip out for awhile! I did see a spoiler for a new Banana Pudding coming out though which will be hard to resist...

Which flavor would be your top pick?

MY FAVORITE FALL BLOG POSTS FROM LAST YEAR

As soon as August hits, my brain starts thinking all things Fall. I can't wait to post all new fall content this year (don't tell anyone I already started last week with this post, hehe) but I thought we'd kick things off with a little throwback. I love looking back at older posts for inspiration + to see how things have evolved. Here are my favorite fall posts from last year:

1. MY ULTIMATE FALL STYLE GUIDE - Arguably one of the best parts of fall is the fashion. Fall outfits are just better. My fall style guide has all of my favorite picks from sweaters, bags to shoes!

2. AUGUST READING LIST - When it comes to books, I'm all about magic + some witchy vibes. I also think a little bit of suspense is fun every now and then, too.

3. HALLOWEEN FINDS I LOVE - Last year's Halloween finds are in this post. It has always been one of my favorite holidays so I love anything with a Halloween theme or vibe.

4. OCTOBER TO-DO LIST [ALL THE HALLOWEEN THINGS] - Every year I also love making a little Fall/Halloween bucket list with my favorite activities. That usually consists of just doing some of my favorite things with a little fall flair, like baking or watching a movie!

5. OCTOBER WATCH LIST - My October Watch List has some great picks for Fall + Halloween. I definitely plan to watch a lot of these this year too!

WHAT I'VE BEEN WATCHING LATELY

what-I’ve-been-watching-Hulu-Netflix-July-august-2024-the-Kristen-diary-blog

Happy second day of August! I'm so excited we are petering into fall, ya'll. I definitely won't miss this heat of the summer, however I've been having some great movie + show marathons over here. In my last "What I've Been Watching" post from June, I was just starting a rewatch of Sex and the City. I ended up watching the entire series which was so fun. I hadn't seen any of the episodes in years and because they're so short, it's easy to fly through. It's also just feel-good comedy that always makes me laugh. I love Ms. Sammy Jo! After SATC, I've mostly been re-watching favorites but I also started The Bear which is new for me.

If you love the culinary world + cooking, it's a drama series on Hulu. I feel like it starts off a little slow but definitely picks up. It's pretty interesting and has a good progression into the second season. I've also been doing a little re-read and re-watch of all the Harry Potter books and movies. I grew up with the series and still love it all as an adult. Every few years I like to revisit the gang and this time I decided to start with reading the books and then watching each movie after. So far I've read and watched Sorcerer's Stone, read Chamber of Secrets and I'm currently reading Prisoner of Azkaban. Here's my full recap:

+10 Things I Hate About You - I've definitely been in a feel good mood with movies which for me means re-watching old favorites or some type of rom-com. 10 Things I Hate About You happens to check both of those boxes which I'm sure we can all agree on. It's just a classic, always hits + is on Hulu right now if you need a little re-watch too!

+Identity Thief - This one's a little goofy but easy + lighthearted comedy. I also love Jason Bateman and enjoy pretty much anything he is in!

+The Proposal - Ok, this is going to sound hater-ish but The Proposal ranks in the middle for me. I like it, it's cute + fun. It's never been one of my top favorite rom-coms but it's still a good time.

+Coyote Ugly - Can you tell I've been binge-watching Hulu? Lol. My sissy's been letting me use her account to watch The Bear but I've been wandering around a bit with all these other movies. I had to jump on Coyote Ugly because I couldn't tell you when the last time I watched it was. It also still hits and I love nostalgic feel it now has.

+The Bear - A little recap on The Bear- it follows Carmen who is a highly-skilled, Michelin star level chef. His culinary background and career is in fine dining, however his older brother dies and ends up leaving him with the family restaurant, a local sandwich shop in Chicago. He returns home to take over the shop and is faced with a dumpster fire of a restaurant. It is the exact opposite of what he's used to working in and the show follows the challenges he faces both in the kitchen and personally.

+Jumanji - I love Jumanji! Had to rewatch this one ASAP. We love a little adventure and this one is fun. The sequel is also up on Hulu but I don't remember ever seeing it?? I was sure I would have gone to see it in theaters but I remember nothing about it... I'll report back.

+Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Back to where it all begins, ya'll. I've been loving every minute of re-reading the books and loved rewatching the first movie. I always think about how everyone looks so little now though, especially in the first two films. Growing up with the movies + books is definitely a different viewpoint than rewatching them as an adult but they are still just as magical!

What have you been watching lately?
