SPRING STYLE INSPO

Today's post is all about Spring Style Inspo! With warm weather approaching, I picked out a few of my favorite pieces that are great "refreshers" to your closet. If you're going on a vacation or Spring break trip, grab these before they sell out! I'm normally pretty neutral with my color palette but am loving fun, bright accessories for the Spring and Summer this year. Here are a few of my favorites and some great basics to style them with!

I love sharing my picks with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I’ll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

1. Tassel Statement Earrings - I love love love these! They're the perfect statement piece for any outfit and I love the colors. There are a lot of amazing tassle earring options out this year so I also have this pair and this pair in my cart right now.

2. Black Maxi Dress - This dress is a great staple to wear all Spring and Summer long. A comfy black maxi dress is easy to throw on during the day or dress up for dinner. Simple and put together! This one comes in a few different colors and is a great price!

3. Sunnies - I feel like the warmer months make me more adventurous with sunnies. I like to try out some different more "funky" styles over my normal high keys. I love the 70s vibe this pair has and the brown lenses. They're super fun and under $60!

4. Wedges - You can't go wrong with a good pair of wedges. I always see lots of bloggers wearing this exact pair and I'm definitely scooping up a pair for myself. They come in several pretty colors, my favorite is the tan brown!

5. Pompom Straw Clutch - Okay I'm OBSESSED with this! I haven't been a big fan of the straw bag trend the last few years but this one is adorable! This bag is a clutch with a cute pom pom fringe detail. I love all of the colors and that it's a smaller size. I'm more of crossbody/small bag kinda gal so I like that it's a clutch. I also can't believe it's under $25!

6. Striped Bathing Suit - This swimmie is so cute! It's amazing that one pieces have made a comeback and there are so many different options right now. This one's super cute striped pattern caught my eye with all of these pretty colors. It also gives me some vintage vibes which I'm all about!

7. Swimsuit Cover-up - Definitely a must-have if you own a bathing suit (lolz). I do feel like swimsuit coverups tend to sell out pretty quickly though. I'm dying over the pretty mauve color of this coverup but it comes in several good colors. The cutout details are really cool too!

8. Denim Shorts - I kind of feel like these don't even need an explanation for why I love them??? There's nothing like the perfect pair of denim shorts (except maybe the perfect pair of jeans... or leggings...we like pants here). I like my jean shorts to have a casual vibe to them with some shreds or distressing. I love a good high-waisted pair too. These are just good, you guys. V cute.

9. Flip-Flops - These are totally the boujee version of Old Navy flops, you guys. Who else was obsessed with those? Comment below if you still love them! So I saw these and was drawn to the colors, I'm loving this nude shade and there's also several pretty metallic colors (rose gold, gold, etc.). I feel like these are great essential to have for the beach or pool since they are easy to hose off and still have a classic look. What color do you like best?

Kristen

COMFY STRIPES

I love sharing my personal style with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I’ll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)
Alright guys I'm still trying to get the hang of these outfit posts! I'm my own photographer so we're a work in progress. Today's look is one of my favorite "go-to" outfits. I love a classic jeans + tee combo. To keep things interesting I like to add something like ripped denim, a fun cardigan or a striped tee. Sometimes all three! LOL ;)

Okay on a slightly more serious note, I really do love this look. It's easy, cute and still super comfy. Basically all I want in life! I just picked up this striped tee and I know I'm going to wear it a ton this Spring. This is one of my favorite brands because the fabric is more of a flowy, silky material. It's super soft and flattering on. Hugs ya in all the right places! It's also very affordable and comes in a pretty burgundy color here.

It's still a little chilly out so I threw on a cute cardigan to stay cozy. The one I have is unfortunately sold out right now but I will link a similar one here + here for you guys.

Alright let's talk about these jeans! I love a good pair of ripped denim and these skinnies are SO good. They have a lighter distressing which is nice if you need to be a little bit more put together or want to tone down the holes a bit. I also love that the color is a grayish blue so it's a little different from my normal dark jeans. The best part is they are super flattering (they def help the booty out!) but are stretchy so they breathe and are comfortable.

I'm busting out my favorite slip-ons again. You guys know I'm obsessed with these and just need to bite the bullet and get the black pair too. They are seriously worth every penny! They're the best when it's cooler out but you don't want to wear boots. If it was a little warmer, I'd wear these sandals for a dressier look or these for a more casual look (my two favorites).

I hope you all are having a great week so far! Let me know what you've been watching recently (movies or tv). I started back up on The Office and I cannnnnn't even, you guys. If you've never seen it, it's HILARIOUS. I love Dwight!! Thank you for reading!

Kristen

WHAT'S IN MY CART

New products at sephora 2019

I love to shop so you can bet there's always something in my cart. There have been so many new releases in the beauty world recently so today I'm sharing products that are currently on my wish-list or that I'm planning on buying! Let me know your thoughts on this post and if I should do more of them!

I love sharing my picks with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I’ll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

1. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder - Some of my favorite products to try out are for the face (foundation, concealer, powder) so when I saw this new Fenty powder I was sold! The packaging is also to die for - very luxe and pretty. I'm curious to try the shades "Butter" and "Lavender."

2. Natasha Denona Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette - I'm soooooo excited for this. I always drool over the latest ND palettes but they supa supa pricey (see this one here, haha!). Over the last several months, she's released a few mini palettes that are actually very affordable! I love this Nude one and think the bronzy, warm tones will be great for Spring and Summer. There are also a few other ones here and here

3. Pat McGrath Lip Gloss - Pat McGrath is another brand I have never tried before but am very excited by. She has a lot of beautiful products and these lip glosses get amazing reviews! I have my eye on "Love Potion."

4. KAJA Heart Melter Lip Gloss Stick - These are a pretty cool lip product. They are from KAJA, a newer brand at Sephora. I like the ease of stick/balm products so these look really nice. Brownie points for cute packaging too!

5. IGK Smooth Moves Perfect Blowout Set - This set is such a STEAL! I should probably go buy it now because it's limited edition and I know it will sell out ASAP. This set comes with the IGK Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray and the IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm. Both of these are full-sized products for $35! I love the IGK Dry Shampoo so I can't wait to try these.

6. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - Chapped, dry lips are literally my worst nightmare. I have dry skin and my lips are awful this time of year. I've been religiously applying chapstick, however I feel like I need something a little bit more intensive to help moisturize them better. This lip sleeping mask is an overnight mask that you wear to bed and is apparently life changing. I was excited to see the Vanilla scent back in stock at Sephora but they have an original scent too that smells like bubblegum.

7. Briogeo Scalp Revival Scalp Soothing Travel Kit - Okay this is literally my worst nightmare. TMI time, you guys. I have a super dry scalp which is SO not fun! I've tried several products and nothing seems to really help. The reviews for the Briogeo Scalp Revival line are really good so I want to try out this travel kit. It comes with Shampoo, Conditioner + a Tea Tree Scalp treatment

8. BeautyBlender Bounce Liquid Whip Foundation - I saw Tati rave about this BeautyBlender Foundation so now I need to try it out! I am always down to try a new foundation so I will let you guys know my thoughts once I do. The BeautyBlender is one of my favorite sponges so I have high hopes!

9. Benefit Roller Liner Liquid Eyeliner - I'm on the hunt for my holy grail liquid liner. I have a few that I LOVE, however I just can't stop trying new ones. I'm almost out of my Fenty Liquid Liner so I'm picking up this one from Benefit next!

What's in your cart? Let me know below!

Happy Valentine's Day!

5 BEST MAKEUP REMOVERS

Taking your makeup off every night is one of those necessary evils. When you're tired and ready for bed, it's kind of a pain in the ass. It's still super important to do it in order to prevent breakouts and let your skin breathe. I try to make the process as quick and painless as possible so I can be back in bed in no time. The main thing I look for in a product is that it works. That it's going to get all of my makeup off with ease and with no excessive rubbing or tugging of my skin. I also want it to be gentle and non-irritating on my eyes.

Makeup Eraser, Clinique Take the Day Off Cleasning Balm, Kiehl's Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, Aveeno Ultra Calming Wipes, Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

I love sharing my favorite things with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I’ll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

Here is a list of the 5 Best Makeup Removers (IMO). I'm excited to share these with you all because they are my tried-and-true, holy grail removers. I love skincare but as you can probably tell I'm a picky lil' b*tch about it ;) Through years and years of trying and testing different ones, these are my favorite five!

5 BEST MAKEUP REMOVERS

1. Aveeno Ultra Calming Wipes - I feel confident saying these are the best wipes ever. I have tried pretty much everything when it comes to makeup remover wipes-- high-end, drugstore, you name it. I always come back to these! They are effective, gentle, have the right amount of "wetness" and a nice smell (clean + fresh, not too overpowering). I also love that they are under $6 here so super affordable.

2. Kiehl's Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - If you are in search of a great eye makeup remover, my go-to is this one from Kiehl's. The consistency is a creamy liquid so it's gentle on the eye area but gets everything off. It's a great alternative to traditional eye makeup removers because it doesn't leave behind any filmy residue which can be irritating for your eyes. I only use a tiny bit each time so a bottle lasts for months!

3. Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm - My favorite cleansing balm is this one from Clinique. I love it for taking off both eye and face makeup because it breaks everything down easily. This one is on the pricier side but lasts for an eternity. Haha, seriously I feel like it never ends! I used one up a few months ago and there was hardly any product left in the bottom for what felt like weeks and weeks! So so good. (Available in Full Size + Deluxe Trial Size)

4. Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil - I love this product so much! It's a cleansing oil that gets all makeup off effortlessly and feels amazing on. It has a cool "tingling" sensation that leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean. The oil doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all but is great for breaking down tough lip products, stubborn mascara, etc. (Available in Full Size + Deluxe Trial Size)

5. Makeup Eraser - I just started using one of these a few months back and was amazed by how well it works! It's a soft, microfiber cloth that will take off all makeup with just water. It's two-sided with the remover on one side and an exfoliator on the other. I like using it alone as well as with the Kiehl's Eye Makeup Remover. There are also several fun, cute colors and patterns. I have both this lips design and this cute pineapple design.

Let me know if there are any other makeup removers I need to test out!

YOU ARE A BADASS | BOOK REVIEW

I'm so excited to be sharing my first book review on the blog today! One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2019 is to read at least one book every month. I'm working towards a lot of my goals this year and as a result, have added several inspiring/"self help" books to my reading list. I thought it would be helpful to do a book review at the end of each month recapping what I've read. My first read of the year was You are a Badass by Jen Sincero!

I love sharing reviews with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty neat, huh? :)

SYNOPSIS

In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, bestselling author and world-traveling success coach, Jen Sincero, serves up 27 bitesized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word, helping you to: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, Create a life you totally love. And create it NOW, Make some damn money already. The kind you've never made before.
By the end of You Are a Badass, you'll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can't change, how to change what you don't love, and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.

Available at: Amazon || iTunes // Target // Urban Outfitters // Walmart

I am really into this, you guys! You Are a Badass left me feeling inspired and ready to accomplish the sh*t out of my goals. Jen Sincero shares a wide variety of topics and advice centered around creating success, believing in yourself and having a positive mindset. If you're familiar with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne or the Law of Attraction, this book has a lot of similar ideas and principles.

Having a positive mindset and believing both in your worth and yourself were some of the main takeaways I received from this book. It's easy to doubt yourself and get discouraged and I love that You Are a Badass teaches you how you can reach and obtain your goals. It focuses a lot on loving yourself and that you hold the ability to create the life you want to have (you just have to go out and do it).

The book also touches on the specifics of goal setting and taking action. I really loved the emphasis that was placed on getting started and just doing something. I have definitely been guilty of paralysis by analysis and often get overwhelmed by the "big picture" or magnitude of my goals. The book stresses the importance of not worrying about the exact way to begin or trying to be too perfect and guides you on how to start and get the ball rolling.

I also love the importance placed on having gratitude within your life. Whether you're happy with where you're at or are hoping for more out of life, Jen shares how to be grateful for the present as well as all that will come in the future. She gives great advice on how to develop gratitude and maintain it on a daily basis.

If you're struggling with where you're at in life and/or have dreams to do and be more, I highly recommend checking You Are a Badass out. It's relatable, funny and inspiring. It left me feeling excited and hopeful for the future which I feel very grateful for. Can you tell I'm embracing my gratitude? ;) It might be a little cheesy but if you need a little push I'm hoping this post will inspire you to check out the book!

Let me know if you all have any book recommendations!

Kristen

10 MOVIES TO WATCH ON VALENTINE'S DAY

To kick off the month of love, I'm sharing ten of my favorite movies to watch on and around Valentine's Day (and really any other time of the year). I love a good romantic-comedy-feel-good-love-story-with-a-tad-of-sap. But like just a tad. The major key here is also feel good. I'm not big on sad, heartbreaking he-dies-at-the-end stories. I just can't deal, they're too much. I'm still not over Robert Pattison and Remember MeUgh. (I loved it, btw!)

Movies to watch on Valentine's Day

I love sharing my favorite things with you all. Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty neat, huh? :)

10 Valentine's Movies I Love (that you should watch + love too).
**You can watch the trailer, rent or buy any of the movies by clicking on their titles below!**

1. Valentine's Day - I mean...duh! This movie is super cute and obviously perfect for Valentine's Day. It follows different couples and their stories on Valentine's Day. We also got "Today Was a Fairytale" out of it so it's a must watch.

2. He's Just Not That Into You - The same setup as Valentine's Day following different couples and various relationship issues that arise. A cute + fun comedy that would be great to watch with the girls on Galentine's Day.

3. Pretty Woman - A classic! A prostitute meets and falls in love with a rich, successful businessman. It's set in Beverly Hills so it has all of the glitz and glamour of Rodeo Drive. "Welcome to Hollywood! What's yo dream?"

4. 10 Things I Hate About You - So so good! A cute high school romantic comedy that follows two sisters that are polar opposites. Has a unique storyline!

5. Clueless - Another highschool-themed romantic comedy. Follows Cher Horowitz, a rich and popular valley girl who goes through daily dramas and finds love in an unexpected place.

6. No Reservations - One of my all-time favorites. After her sister is killed, a successful chef in New York City is left to care for her niece. She struggles with becoming a new parent, running a successful restaurant and finding love.

7. Mean Girls - Raise your hand if you've ever been personally victimized by Regina George.

8. Because I Said So - A mother worried about her youngest daughter ending up alone, finds and secretly sets her up with a man of her choosing. So cute, funny + always makes me feel good!

9. The Wedding Planner - One of my favorite J. Lo movies! She plays a wedding planner who ends up falling in love with the groom (Matthew McConaughey!) of one of her clients.

10. Maid of Honor - Hello, Dr. McDreamy! Stars Patrick Dempsey who is a successful and single bachelor in New York City. His best friend gets engaged and asks him to be her Maid of Honor. He agrees right after he realizes he's been in love with her all along.

Have you seen any of these movies? Let me know below! Hope you all are having a great weekend.
