WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 5.20.24

Happy Monday, ya'll. I always love starting the week off with a little mental to-do list of what I have, need + want to do. Not only does it mentally prepare me for the week coming up, I also find I'm much more productive and likely to do what's on the agenda. It's also fun to share with you a little sneak peak of some of my non-work life. I think most of us are creatures of habit so you might notice these tend to look the same, however every once in awhile there's a wild card thrown in. Here are the highlights for this week:

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+NAIL FILL - As silly as this sounds, the highlight of my week is hands down tomorrow's nail appointment. I've been getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks which I normally love but I should've booked sooner for this set, ya'll. If you're a tip girlie, you know the struggle of cracks and lifting and right now I have three different nails that have been driving me NUTS. Definitely a silly first world problem, lol ;p

+GYM - Always on the agenda are my weekly OTF workouts. I decided to skip out on Mayhem this year and after seeing some of the workouts, I have no regrets lol. My goal is to go three times this week!

+CLEAN CAR - The Mazdarati is needing a little TLC so it's time for a little wash + vac. The pollen count right now is terrible- everyday my car just gets yellower! Cleaning the interior is also a great mental health boost- I feel way better when it's all fresh and clean.

+RECIPE TEST - I'm crossing my fingers on this one because I've had it on my to-do list for a few weeks now. I've been wanting to test out a healthier, greek-yogurt based chicken salad for lunch so I'm adding it to this week's agenda. I love chicken salad but a regular mayo-based version is a lot higher in fat + calories. I've found several with greek yogurt that I'm excited to try for something quick and higher in protein.

+SKATE PRACTICE - I've started skating again too! I guess I picked it back up a few weeks back so I've been practicing at night 2-3 times a week. It's so much fun and I'm slowly practicing new exercises and trying to perfect the basics.

+READ - This week I started 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson so I'm excited to dive into it a bit more this week. I love listening to him speak and I definitely find the book to be super interesting and enlightening. He has such a unique mind and perspective that's complex but still easy to engage with and understand.

What's on your agenda this week?

I love sharing my to-do lists with you! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 4.22.24

weekly-to-do-list-april-2024-the-Kristen-Diary-lifestyle-blog-oval-pink-soft-gel-x-nails

The current vibe-- what should I do tomorrow?

Today was definitely an "It's a Monday" kind of Monday. Between an early workout and a busy work day, I'm counting down the seconds until I'm back in my bed. Because I always have Tuesdays off, one thing I like to do on Monday nights is map out my to-do list for the rest of the week. I usually make a quick list in my notes app with any appointments or errands I have for the week. I also always feel the need to disclaim that these are random, "non-work" extracurricular activities or tasks I want to prioritize. Although I wouldn't mind it one bit, there is definitely a lot more going on in my days than what's on these lists. Counting down the days until I'm a hot SAH pilates mom! Lol ;) Back to my fun errands- they tend to be pretty monotonous, however every so often I find a wild card thrown in there. I guess we're all creatures of habit, huh? Also recurring is another pickle with Orangetheory that I've once again gotten myself into.

I've developed a bad habit of procrastination with my workouts this year and like to play a little game where I leave the majority of my class packs until the last week. This time that was five classes to do in eight days, LOL. I thankfully drug my butt out of bed this morning and knocked it down to four. I really need to get my sh*t together but until then, OTF is a top priority for this week. My game plan is to knock out at least two more classes this week- in a perfect world, three. That will leave me with just one or two for next week.

Also a top priority this week is to rest + get more sleep. I've been staying up way too late these last few weeks which I'm sure hasn't helped my gym motivation. Laundry + a sheet change is always on the list and I have a few returns to send back.

On to the fun- I have a nail appointment tomorrow which I'm very excited for! I always enjoy the experience and love freshening them up + changing to a new color. I'm also excited to start a new book this week, I just haven't decided which one yet. I took a bit of a hiatus after starting Credence and it's been a good month or so now. Ya'll, the book is just A LOT. I definitely have some mixed feelings, lol. I just needed a bit of a break and I think I need to dive into something a little more wholesome, haha. Right now I'm either thinking a Harry Potter re-read or On Dublin Street which is another cute (and a little steamy but not Credence steamy) romance.

I'm probably forgetting something but as of now, that's most of my random errands for this week!

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+OTF WORKOUTS
+NAIL FILL
+LAUNDRY/SHEETS
+RETURNS
+CATCH UP ON SLEEP
+START A NEW BOOK

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.25.24

Welcome back to another weekly to-do list of my extra-curricular activities. This week is also Holy Week leading up to Good Friday and Palm Sunday. I'm not entirely sure what my weekend and Easter Sunday looks like just yet, however most years my boyfriend and I go to church service and lunch afterwards. As I write this seemingly silly post on the little fun errands + things I have planned for the week, I'm also making space to reflect and embrace this week for it's true meaning and purpose. As a believer, daughter of God and lover of Jesus Christ, I'm eternally grateful for the history and the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for me and humanity. Without Him, we are lost. With Him, we have hope and a future. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave! Wishing you all a blessed and celebratory week ahead!

WEEKLY TO-DO'S:

+NAIL APPOINTMENT - Tomorrow I have an appointment for my first gel x fill. I'm currently on my second set of extensions so I'm excited to see how a fill goes + change out my color for Easter and the next few weeks.

+WORKOUT - Alright, I played a little catch up last week so now I just need to get in two more of my  Orangetheory workouts by the end of the month. Today I did a Strength 50 class which was the first one I've been to in awhile + was a nice change up from the regular 2G. I think I'm slowly starting to get my exercise groove back after being in a bit of a lull since the start of the year!

+BIRTHDAY SHOP - JJ's birthday is this Friday so tomorrow's agenda is to do a little more gift shopping for him + all of the birthday prep.

+BF'S BIRTHDAY DINNER - Also on the agenda this week is celebrating his birthday. We usually just do a nice dinner out somewhere which is always fun + a great occasion to dress up for!

+MOVIE DATE - I never made it to that solo movie date I wanted to do a few weeks back so I'm tentatively adding it to my list for tomorrow. I definitely think the current releases are a little underwhelming but I think I'd enjoy watching either the new Ghostbusters or a new one my theatre has called Snack Shack

+LAUNDRY - Ms. Laundry is the loyal bff you can always count on. She never leaves you high + dry, ya know? You can always count on her to have your back and be there, lol. As usual, it's a never-ending job and every week I try to get through most of the necessities + do a sheet change.

+WEEKLY CRUMBL - Okay, when I saw CARROT CAKE I immediately added trying this week's Crumbl cookies on to my to-do list. Gotta keep my priorities straight! As a huge fan of carrot cake, I have to have it. It looks so bomb + I just know it's gonna be a win. I'm also intrigued by the strawberry pretzel pie... definitely looking promising.

What do you have going on this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.4.24

Happy Monday, ya'll. I'm planning out my to-do list for the week and thought you might be interested in some of the highlights. I've been trying to play catch up on laundry + cleaning these past few weeks. I'm definitely in a spring cleaning mood and want to organize, purge + just freshen up my space. I'm also excited about having nice weather and plan to get outside more. Outside of work, there isn't too much going on for me this week which should give me a little more time to just relax and get a few things taken care of! Here's most of the excitement:

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+NAILS - First on the fun agenda for this week is getting my nails fixed. I'm now on week three of my current set so it's time for a little refresh. With the exception of one that got pulled off when I tried to pry a pair of socks out of my drawer (lol, it was tragic but I was able to re-glue it back on!), they've held up really well + still honestly look really good. This time I'm thinking of doing a fun green color for a little St. Patty's + spring vibe.

+SOLO MOVIE DATE - I've definitely been in the mood to watch some movies lately so I want to either go to the movies this week or binge a few on Netflix! I'm definitely in the mood for some chick flicks or the new Madame Web move that just came out!

+PILATES - Alright, in my search for new ways to lower stress/cortisol levels, I decided it would be a good idea to start pilates. I'm sure that opinion will change once I actually start (lol), but I'm intrigued nonetheless. I also want to look like a pilates girlie... have you seen them? Sadly there are no pilates studios where I live so the plan is to start with a yoga mat + some entry level YouTube.

+WORKOUT - I'm still not back up to 100% when it comes to my Orangetheory motivation but the show is still going on. Last month I waited until the last minute to get most of my classes done which always sucks, lol. Definitely some self sabotage there but I just haven't been feelin' it these past few months. To try and break that, I'm going to push myself to do at least two classes this week so I can stay on a consistent schedule for the month.

+FINISH BOOK - I'm so excited to be back into my reading era- currently I'm reading The Psychology of Money. I would love to knock it out this week and then start on Credence for what I hear is an epic read... I'm still a little freaked out but we'll just have to see how it goes, hah.

+LAUNDRY - Same biotch, different day.

+CLEAN//ORGANIZE - See above, lol. I have been slowly purging old clothes + clutter at home. I also cleaned out my car last week which is always a win. Besides the normal laundry and cleaning this week, I need to shred a bunch of old paperwork/bills/etc. Sooooooo fun!

What do you have going on this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 10.30.23

I love holiday weeks! There's just something about the days surrounding a holiday that excites me just as much (if not more) than the actual holiday itself. I think it's reminiscent of school days as a child and the anticipation of getting out for break. Those weeks leading up to break were always just a little bit different- full of anticipation and typically a little bit more lax, no? Do you have anything exciting going on for Halloween? As of now, my plan consists of a little candy, maybe a cocktail or two and a spooky movie! Other than that, it's pretty much a normal workweek with normal to-dos but I've added a few fun things in for this week too!

+MAKE SOUP - Halloween week + colder weather calls for soup! Last weekend I made tomato bisque which was so good. It's just a vibe, ya'll-- soup really is good for the soul. I used a soup mix "starter" that you just add a few ingredients too and voila, homemade soup! Super easy to do and delicious. Potato is on the menu this week!

+FINISH HELL WEEK - Today + tomorrow are the last two days of Hell Week at Orangetheory. I'm knocking out my last day tomorrow on Halloween which I've heard is a "Trick or Treat" workout. Although tough, I surprisingly feel like all of the workouts were very manageable? I'm really glad I signed up, it's been a fun challenge.

+SAUNA - Despite Hell Week being "manageable", how my body feels right now would suggest otherwise, LOL. I normally do one or two classes per week so I'm feeling the pain from taking four last week. I try to go to the infrared sauna once per week and I'm looking forward to this week's more than usual. My body needs it!

+LAUNDRY//SHEETS - My weekly push to wash my sheets, lol. IYKYK. It always feels a little silly to include laundry on the list because it's always there? I've decided that you can never really catch up. I actually don't mind doing laundry or even washing my sheets, it's just the putting them on part that I hate. Because I don't love it and I WILL skip it sometimes-- I try to add it to my to-do lists so that it *might* actually get done. Lol.

+HAIRCUT - Ya'll, I STILL haven't gotten my haircut. TBH it's shameful at this point. My hair has gotten so long that now it's starting to get in my way a little bit. It's just a little too much, lol. I want to chop off enough to make it more manageable but still keep my "long hair" identity, know what I mean? I just don't think I can dive into short short hair. It's one of those things that I just keep pushing off but I just need to make myself go.

+CHRISTMAS TREE - Alright, I typically don't follow any rules when it comes to Christmas decorations. I've done them both before and after Thanksgiving, however normally it ends up being last minute because of my busy schedule. Because of that, this year I was thinking of just putting up my tree early (aka this week). I'm not really in the mood to decorate just yet but I would love to have the tree up, even just to enjoy the lights.

Wishing you a Happy Hallo-week!

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 9.25.23

Ya'll, it's one of those weeks where all I want to do is CHILL. Last week was super hectic. Between work, appointments and events, it was nonstop and I am exhausted. The older I get, the more I realize how much of a homebody I am. I love getting things done, however I definitely recharge and value my me time. Sometimes adulting is also just stressful and mentally taxing, ya know? Despite the chaos, I still made it to BINGO though! If you missed last week's post, I'm in my bingo playing coastal grandmother/golden girl era. My Chicky hosts it every six weeks or so and it's so fun, hahahah. The plan for this week is to slow down a little and relax some more without completely dropping the ball. Basically just do the things I need to do + then chill tf out. This is "holding myself accountable" when the motivation is down a couple notches because the show must go on, no? I also may or may not be feeling a littleeeee uninspired with blog content today too, don't tell... lol.

THIS WEEK'S LIST:

+WORKOUT - The idea of just skipping my workouts this week sounds really nice. I *won't* be doing that, however I still have to b*tch and moan every once in awhile. On a real note, I actually really enjoy working out and going. I haven't been sleeping as much lately which I think is throwing off my motivation a little but I always feel really good afterwards. I went to a free weightlifting class that my Orangetheory hosted on Saturday so I still have three classes to complete by the end of this week. I usually go Tuesday morning and Saturdays so this week I'll squeeze in an extra on Thursday or Friday.

+SAUNA - Very much looking forward to tomorrow's sauna visit- I love them. They're like a little reward after working out. I've been going once a week for 35 minutes and enjoy the detox time. It also has amazing health benefits and is great for muscle recovery after a workout.

+CLEAN CAR - This one will definitely take a little bit of motivation but my car needs a deep clean. This is another one of those love/hates because I LOVE a clean car, I just hate the process. Every time I do the entire inside I end up spending an hour+ on vacuuming, etc., which is why I hate going, lol. I definitely need to be more efficient, then I would go more often!

+SHEETS//LAUNDRY - ALWAYS!

+START A NEW BOOK - I need something fun and fallish to read. I've been itching to start a new book or re-read Harry Potter, lol. I'm overdue on reading them all again + a movie marathon! It also just feels even more magical to watch them during the holidays. I also still have In the Company of Witches on my list too!

+WATCH A MOVIE - I need a fun, relaxing movie day. I've already decided 10 Things I Hate About You will be hitting my screen this week. It's one of my all time favorites and I haven't watched it what feels like a year or two?? Did ya'll see the guy on TikTok who recently went to visit Stadium High School where it was filmed? How fun! His video is definitely to blame for this rewatch, lol.

What's on your to-do list this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 9.18.23

If you didn't know, I have a habit of creating lists for pretty much everything. Whether it be work related, chores or just fun things- I usually jot it down in my notes app. At times my mind just feels overloaded. The lists help me to organize my thoughts and serve as a brain dump of sorts. I also find they make me more productive. When I can see what I need, want or have to do- it's much more likely to get done. It also feels pretty d*mn good checking things off. You all seem to like when I share these little mini "to-do" lists so I thought I'd share a little snapshot of this week. I usually keep these short with just the highlights, fun things or "chores" that I need to but don't always want to do. I also leave work out so this is just a mini glimpse into some of my "personal" to-do list :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST:

+BINGO - Alright, I'm officially entering my coastal grandmother era. I shared a little while back that my local Chick-fil-a has been doing bingo every few weeks. I happened to be there one bingo morning and they asked if I wanted to play. I obliged and ya'll, there was no going back. It's so much fun- last time I won twice! I mean who doesn't love free Chicky prizes??! Obsessed! It's on this week's schedule so ya'll know I'll be there or be square!

+DENTIST - WAY less fun than bingo is my dentist appointment on Wednesday. Thankfully I always have good appointments but I still dread going anyway. It's just one of those things, ya know?

+SHEETS//LAUNDRY - It's no secret that my least favorite chore is changing the sheets on my bed. I know it really isn't *that* bad, I just hate the putting them back on part. What I do love is sliding into fresh clean sheets, though. Definitely an underrated experience, especially with great sheets. I like to change mine once a week so recently I've been designating Tuesday as sheet day.

+DAD'S BIRTHDAY - My dad's birthday is also Wednesday which means family dinner and fun. Gift shopping + cake duty is also on the schedule!

+GYM/SAUNDA - Orangetheory and the infrared sauna has become a regular part of my weeks, however I always enjoy (and feel accomplished) going so I still add them on my list. I go to OTF and the sauna every Tuesday morning and then will add in a second workout at another random time during the week.

+SKINCARE - One habit I'm still working on being consistent with is my skincare. Currently I am consistently inconsistent, lol. My two main priorities are to start applying my sunscreen every single day and to do my retinol serum a few nights a week.

That's pretty much the gist of things as of now. I do need to squeeze a grocery run in somewhere and I would also love to clean my car, get a haircut + either do/get my nails done.

What's on your agenda this week?

I love sharing my life with you all! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 7.10.23

Weekly-to-do-list-the-Kristen-Diary-blog
Alright, ya'll. This week we are getting back on track! If you've missed a few of my more recent posts, you know I've taken a little bit of a hiatus from my normal routine. This week I'm ready to get back into it all and organize, clean + reset. Ya'll know I love to make a to-do list both to keep track of all of my goals + to keep myself accountable. I love to use the notes app on my phone so I can check things off. Here's what I have planned for the week:

ON THE AGENDA:

+ORANGETHEORY - I'm *not* looking forward to this one, ya'll. It's crazy how by skipping a few weeks of workouts, my brain is just not having it right now. It's been over two weeks since my last OTF class so I'm forcing myself to go this week. I always feel so good after so I know once I do that initial first class back, I'll hopefully get my groove back.

+SAUNA - I am excited about my infrared sauna appointment tomorrow! I've been going every Tuesday after working out but I skipped 4th of July last week. It's a great time for me to relax, sweat it out + detox both physically and mentally. I've also been having a lot of neck and pectoral pain this week so I definitely need some relief.

+LAUNDRY/SHEETS - Ya'll, I've just been letting everything go. It is what it is at this point. Clearly I didn't end up changing my sheets this past weekend so it's at the top of my list tomorrow.

+CLEAN/WASH CAR - Also a must-do this week. We're in the thick of the summer where all of the birds and bugs are loving my car. Every so often I will also do a deeper clean both inside + out which is the plan for this week!

+WATCH A MOVIE - Obviously we have to throw in some fun with all of that work, lol. It just feels like a good time to relax and watch a new show or movie. A little me date at the movies could be fun too? I also almost forgot— SHARK WEEK! I live for it every year + it starts this week!

+CATCH UP ON READING - I'm currently reading Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister which is SO good. Also crossing my fingers that I can spend some extra time with it this week- highly recommend if you like thrillers!

What are you up to this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.27.23

Weekly-to-do-list-macbook-air-the-Kristen-Diary-blog

It feels like a good week for an updated "weekly to-do" list. Ya'll know I love making lists and I 100% think they make you more productive. The key for me is keeping them manageable by not putting too many things on the list. I also like to focus on the things that I either want or need to do, but that aren't necessarily daily habits. For me, this is things like going to workout or doing laundry. They are constantly popping up on my weekly schedule, however sometimes it takes a little extra resolve for me to get them done. I also make sure to add in fun things like going to the movies, shopping, etc. It's nice (and essential) to prioritize fun too. Sometimes it's easy to skip out on when life gets busy if you aren't intentional about making plans.

ON THE AGENDA:

+ ORANGETHEORY WORKOUT - OTF is starting to become a regular part of my Tuesdays, however I still have to push myself to go. Right now I'm just going once a week which for me is the easiest on an off day. Usually I prefer Tuesdays over the weekend so I push myself to get it out of the way first thing. Eventually I plan to add in more classes each week but for now I'm building up my once a week habit.

+ INFRARED SAUNA - I've also added in weekly sauna sessions too. I've always wanted to try out a sauna so I finally went for the first time a few weeks ago. It's great for preventing a lot of diseases in the body as well as for your immune system, sleep health, pain relief, relaxation + more. I've been doing 25 minute sessions after my workouts on Tuesday which has been so nice. It feels great and has been really relaxing but I'll keep you posted on my thoughts after going for a little while longer!

+ NEW COMPUTER SETUP - My sweet parents surprised me with a new computer this week! My laptop has been on it's last leg of storage full for about a solid two years now. I knew I would need to upgrade eventually but I figured I would just keep using mine until it died, lol. They surprised me with a new one last weekend so of course setting it up on is on my to-do for this week! THX Mom & Dad!

+ BIRTHDAY SHOP - It's JJ's birthday week which means lots of fun, cake + pressies for him. In true KP fashion, I still have a few things left to pick up for his present, lol. Guys are so hard to buy for which usually leaves me scrambling last minute. When in doubt, buy them the things they don't know they need! Haha!

+ CELEBRATE JJ'S BIRTHDAY - Obviously we'll be having our own little party for his actual bday too. I'm not sure what he'll want to do this year-- some years we've gone out for dinner, others we've just picked up takeout and watched a movie. What do you usually do on birthdays?

+ SHEETS & LAUNDRY - My least favorite part of the list, always. Lol. I actually enjoy the process of putting the laundry in the wash, I just hate the rest of it. IYKYK!

+ TAXES - The tax deadline is coming up, ya'll. I thankfully don't have to file my own, however this week I need to get everything together for my accountant. Here's your reminder if you haven't done yours yet because time is ticking. PS-- it's also a great time to make some last minute contributions to your ROTH/Traditional IRA if you plan to but haven't yet for 2022! Click here for why you need to open a ROTH IRA.

That's the gist of it! Think I can get it all done?

What's on your to-do list this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 2.20.23

weekly-to-do-list-productivity-goals-the-Kristen-Diary-blog

Can you believe we're on our last full week of February?? I’m pretty sure I said this in a recent post but this entire month has felt like a blur & been all over the place for me. Going on a mini vacation and being sick completely threw off my routine over the last few weeks and I’ve been off track with a lot of my daily habits & goals.

With spring up ahead, I’m feeling inspired to make new progress and keep moving forward. It’s been tough trying to get back into the swing of things so I’m hoping this is the week we get there!

Making a to-do list always helps me outline what I want/need to do & gets me in the mindset to be productive. I usually include anything that I want, need or have to do. Here are some of my top goals & to-dos this week:

+ GET BACK ON THE HEALTHY TRAIN - It's long overdue for me to get back on the healthy train. Keeping it real- I've been struggling since the start of the New Year. I had good intentions of jumping back into eating cleaner but between my birthday, being sick, being gone & Valentine's Day- it's been a fail. My main goals are to cut back on the sugar/sweets, eat leaner + cleaner and have more meals at home.

+ GROCERY SHOP - To try and get back on the healthy train, going grocery shopping is on the agenda for tomorrow. I made breakfast at home today but gave myself permission to eat out for lunch since I didn't have anything healthy at home and I'm off tomorrow (aka, I will eat out). I need to pick up a few ingredients for breakfast + figure out something I can make for lunch W-F. PS-- I tried the Beach Club salad at Tropical Smoothie today. Really yum + a great healthier option for when you're eating out.

+ WORKOUT - I have one class left on my Orangetheory cycle for this month which is also on tomorrow's agenda. I always try to go on Tuesday mornings since I have the day off from work.

+ CLEAN & PURGE - Something I need need need to do is declutter & organize. I have so much crap laying around right now that I need to just deal with. My ideal goal is to clean out and make space to properly organize things and dare I say even leave room for something new?? Lol, I am always a work-in-progress on this one.

+ LAUNDRY - Never ends!

+ SELL SH*T - Despite having way too much, I’m also in a buying mood and want new clothes. That Spring fever is coming my way, lol. Instead of just buying new, I’m challenging myself to sell some of the clothing/things I no longer want & then allow myself to buy new with that money.

+ GO TO THE MOVIES - You can't forget to pencil in the fun stuff too! I've been meaning to go on a little movie date lately... hopefully tomorrow is the day. PS-- if you have an AMC, Tuesday is the best day to go. They do $5 tickets all day and it usually isn't too too crowded!

+ FINISH BOOK - I’m almost finished with The Chase by Elle Kennedy which has been a fun & easy romance read. The plan is to wrap it up this week and start something new. Because I’ve been feeling more inspired, I think I want to switch to something in the personal growth genre. Maybe The 5AM Club since I purchased it a few months back... have you read it?

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but those are my main objectives!

What's on your to-do list this week?

I love sharing my picks with you all! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 2.6.23

Happy Monday, friends! This week looks a little different as I’m writing to you from coastal Charleston, South Carolina! I had a full six days off from work which hasn’t happened in YEARS. Because that’s not the norm, I had no idea what to do with my time! I knew I wanted to fully enjoy it so I booked an impromptu trip to Charleston Saturday afternoon and left that evening!

After spending last weekend sick on my birthday, it’s nice to have a little time away to relax. I‘ve still been a little congested but feel 150% better than I did last weekend.

Because this week has an unusual itinerary (and I have limited blogging capabilities without my laptop 😉), I thought I’d just share my weekly to-do list/schedule with you. I don’t have too many things I want/have to do this week so it should be pretty low-key. Here’s what’s going on in my world:

WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

MONDAY: LAST FULL DAY IN CHARLESTON

TUESDAY: TRAVEL DAY

WEDNESDAY: REST & RECHARGE

THURSDAY - SATURDAY: BACK TO WORK

SUNDAY: REST & RECHARGE

TO-DOS:

+ Spend time with JJ

+ Un-pack once home

+ Clean // do laundry

+ Upload blog posts Wednesday // Friday

+ Read more of book (currently on: The Chase by Elle Kennedy)

WEEKLY TO DO-LIST | 11.28.22

Happy Monday, ya'll. I survived Black Friday weekend! To say I'm exhausted is an understatement. The last week and a half have pretty much been centered all on work, work + more work. Now that we've made it through the crazy weekend, I'm taking this week to dial it back a bit and rest when I can. December is just as busy of a month in retail world but I'm going to do my best to prioritize me things. Here's a quick snapshot of my weekly plans!

+CHRISTMAS LIGHTS & TREE - My goal for this week is all things Christmas. I still haven't managed to get up my tree (are we surprised?? lol) so that has been added back to this week's list + outside lights. I started on those last night and will hopefully knock everything out this week.

+CHRISTMAS SHOP - I also need to get on my Christmas shopping. I've picked up a few things here + there but I'm nowhere near being done.

+ORANGETHEORY - I'm patting myself on the back for having made it to all of my OTF workouts in November. I took off the last week (TBH I'm still physically and mentally tired from work, lol) so I'm going to do my best to squeeze in at least one class this week. I knew it would be tricky during the holidays to workout so I only signed up for the basic plan at OTF which is four classes a month. It's easier for me to get them all done by starting early + doing a class every week to week and a half.

+MOVIE TIME - Are there any good movies out right now? I haven't looked lately but going to a movie this week sounds relaxing. One of my favorite things to do on off days is to go alone + treat myself. I also need to catch up on my Christmas movies at home too. I've been watching the A Christmas Prince series on Netflix + need to finish A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. I've also been wanting to watch The Holiday and This Christmas- two of my faves!

+LAUNDRY - It's the dreaded sheet week in my house, lol. IYKYK. Every time I turn around I'm also needing to do towels, undies + blacks, lol. Think that means it's time to do some more shopping! ;)

+HAIR/NAILS - Throwing a little beauty care in here too-- I'm way way overdue for a haircut + keeping my nails up.

What are you up to this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 9.26 - 10.2

Can you feel the holiday rush starting to set in? With October right around the corner, I can already feel my schedule filling up both in + outside of work. This week is particularly busy, mainly because I have to take my car in for repair next week. A few months ago my poor Mazda was nailed and bailed on in the Panda Express parking lot (compliments of a nice U-Haul truck). I've been on a waiting list for months so I'm happy to finally get it fixed, however I feel like I have a million things to do before then, lol. Keeping a running to-do list always helps me stay focused (and WAY more productive) so I thought I'd share a few of my main objectives for the week.

If you're new to these posts-- I like to put both the big + little things on my lists. In my experience it's often the seemingly easy things that we're more likely to forget or put off. Most of the time I put things down that I really want/need to get done, that aren't part of my normal weekly routine or (in the case of laundry) are things I hate doing. Lol. Sometimes you need a little push, ya know? I also jot down what I need to pick up so I threw in a little shopping list too ;)

WEEKLY T0-DO LIST | FEB 28 - MARCH 6

After setting the Spring Goals that I shared in last week’s post, I’m setting my week up to be more productive with a to-do list. I like a list to remind me of both what I need to do + what I want to do. Last year I was good about jotting everything down in the notes app on my phone but somehow I got out of the habit during the holidays. It’s time to finally get back to it + start getting sh*t done!

Weekly-to-do-list

To catch you up, here’s how I like to lay things out on my to-do lists:

+ I choose my top non-work related goals or tasks for the week, typically no more than 5-10. I’ve found the more manageable + less overwhelming the list (aka, not putting TOO many things on it), the more likely it is that you’ll actually do what’s on it.

+ I make them as simple or as complex as I want! Sometimes I dread doing + put off even the easiest or most basic tasks. If it’s important to you + you want it done, write it down!

+ Checking off my progress. Whether you write it down or do it on your phone, check things off the list as you go. It feels great seeing your progress (and what you still need to get done) + it will motivate you to keep going.

+ I’m adding in a separate area for daily habits + intentions. These are things that I’m actively working on all the time or habits that I do (or try to do) every single day. Since they’re repetitive, I’m keeping them at the top as a constant reminder for throughout the week.

DAILY HABITS + INTENTIONS
+ Get 8 hours of sleep each night
+ Stay off of my phone immediately after waking up + during meals with friends and family
+ Take my vitamins
+ Walk 10K+ steps
+ Put up new blog posts (MWF)
+ Floss my teeth
+ Do the Wordle!

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST
+ Pay my car insurance
+ Wash my hair
+ Treat myself to a movie + lunch date
+ Finish my current book + start a new one
+ Make banana bread
+ Spend more time outside
+ Review my finances + quarterly goals

Outside of work, I don't have too many appointments or engagements happening. My main priority is to reset my schedule + find a better balance for my free time. I'm also hoping to be more mindful of healthy habits like getting more rest and eating well.

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | AUGUST 9 - 15

I originally planned to share my weekly view in the new planner I bought, however I'm still figuring out how I want to use + organize everything. One thing that I've always done that has been a big help is creating a to-do list of everything I need and want to accomplish for the week. It's been a little while since my last Weekly To-Do List post (you can see previous ones here + here) so I thought we'd kick this week off with one! If you've missed my previous ones, these are personal (non-work) related things that I want to get done. I like to keep the list relatively short and manageable and I typically only add in things I want to challenge/push myself to get done or things that are out of the ordinary.

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST

  • WALK 10,000 STEPS - I've been shooting to walk at least 10,000 steps each day. I have a love hate relationship with my Fitbit which means I usually forget to wear it + end up having no idea how many steps I've walked. I'm going to challenge myself to *fingers crossed* remember to wear it everyday and get to 10K.
  • CLEAN OUT CAR - This is at the top of the list this week because my car needs it SO BAD. It always takes me forever to thoroughly clean out + vacuum my car but I love it once it's done!
  • STORE RETURNS - It's rare that I have to return something so when I do, I always push it off. It's one of those things that's inconvenient even though it's easily done. I usually spend more time + energy thinking about how I need to return something (and worrying that I won't make the deadline!) than it actually takes to do it. I randomly have three different stores to return to so my plan is to knock them all out on my day off.
  • EPSOM SALT BATH - I love using epsom salts in the bath to detox + soak my muscles. This is another "once it awhile" thing I do but I think it would be a great habit to start doing weekly.
  • PLAN OUT NEXT WEEK - Is it overkill to plan out planning out? LOL. I'm super into my new planner + stickers (make sure you check out my haul here) so I'm making an effort to use everything and organize my weeks out.

If I can get all of these done on top of work + my weekly basics (laundry, blog posts, etc.) then it will be a productive week. What's at the top of your list this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | JUNE 14 - 20

The past few weeks have been a blur. I've been working a lot more hours which makes my days feel go-go-go. I've found prioritizing and writing out what I want to get done for the week all the more important. If you've read my past Weekly To-Do List posts (you can find them here & here), you'll know I try to keep the list to a minimum. I'll include the top tasks I want to get done or things that I often push off. If I add too many items, it can be overwhelming and I find I'm less productive. I also keep work out-- it helps me keep a little bit of work/life balance and there's enough of that to make an entire list of it's own!

On top of my work schedule, I've been making an effort to work on improving my overall health + wellness. I don't know about you, but it's easy to push off the "me" things that don't always seem like a necessity. I'm trying to prioritize + make time to do a few more of those which you'll see on this week's list. PS-- how do you like my little iPhone screenshot above? I thought I'd switch up my normal to-do list graphic today ðŸ˜œ

MY WEEKLY TO-DO LIST

  • WEEKLY BASICS - Every time I write out a to-do list, I realize there are always a few of the same tasks that I try to accomplish each week. These include laundry, changing my sheets, working on my budget + creating blog posts. It's easy for me to push these off so I always include them.
  • INFRARED LIGHT THERAPY - A few weeks ago, I started doing infrared light therapy. The way this works is you lay down on a massage table under infrared lights which help to target pain, inflammation, reduce stress + more. I carry a lot of stress/tension in my neck + shoulder blades so I've been doing sessions for these areas at a local spa. I'm also *hopefully* reducing any inflammation in my body. I've scheduled three sessions for this week!
  • PAY QUARTERLY TAXES - If you have to pay taxes quarterly, the June 15th deadline is this week. This shouldn't take me too long but is something time sensitive that I need to complete by Tuesday.
  • EYEBROW THREADING - Hoping to go do this sometime this week. Years ago, I use to go get my brows waxed. At some point I just stopped going and honestly, I never minded too much. Now I've decided I need to start shaping them up more. Funny how we go in phases, isn't it? Waxing can be harsh on the skin and is pretty much out of the question now! I may or may not have eleven lines from those waxes way back when... lol. Threading is suppose to be a great alternative, is super affordable + much better for the skin.
  • BUY A FATHER'S DAY GIFT - If you need a PSA, Father's Day is this coming Sunday. I still need to find a gift + card for my dad.
  • SNACKS + GROCERIES - Because I'm not a weekly grocery shopper, I have to pencil this one in. I tend to eat out a lot so when I do eat at home, it's usually quick + easy meals. With working more, I've been eating at home even less which has pretty much thrown me off the healthy train. I want to get back into that which is easier to do if I have things to make at home. I also need more snacks!

Leaving it with these for now. Real talk-- I would feel accomplished just getting all of my "weekly basics" done. Do you usually get everything done on your list? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Hoping it'll be a productive but stress-free week for you :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | MAY 10 - 16

I can't believe that it's already been three months since posting my first "Weekly To-Do List" here on the blog. In that post, I shared a round-up of the top five goals (outside of work) that I wanted to accomplish that week! I'm big on making lists-- I love writing down everything I want or need to do and crossing them off once they're done. I like to make bullet points in the notes app on my phone! It helps keep me organized and prioritize the things that are very important or that may not be part of my normal routine. With a busy week ahead, I wrote out the top tasks I want to get done this week. Some are important and time sensitive, others are very simple!

MY WEEKLY TO-DO LIST

  • BUY A BIRTHDAY GIFT - My sister has a birthday this week! I've already started buying for her birthday, however I still need to find her a main present and put everything together.
  • LAUNDRY + CHANGE SHEETS - Three months later and I still hate changing my sheets, lol. The washing part isn't actually too bad, it's the folding or putting them on the bed for me! My mom still tells me all the time that "you're suppose to change them every week" so I'm penciling it in! Maybe one day it will become second nature for me! I also need to catch up on washing some clothes too.
  • TARGET ORDER PICKUP - I probably didn't have to include this but I figured it's an exciting one, hehe!! Target enticed me to place a pickup order online today with a $15 off $50 coupon! If you're a Target shopper-- those are few and far between! You really just can't say no. ðŸ¤“ I ended up ordering a few new beauty items, a cat toy and some snackies/groceries. I bought Gold Fish pretzels which I've never tried!
  • PLAN + SHOOT BLOG POSTS - I'm still putting up new blog posts on here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! I always aim to put up one outfit post a week so shooting some blog photos for that is on the agenda for Tuesday.
  • UPDATE BUDGET + FINANCES - I'm a little bit behind on updating my spending + budget in my Budget by Paycheck Workbook. Hoping to get caught up on those this week and take care of a few more financial things as well.
  • WASH MY HAIR - I feel silly including this because obviously I was my hair every week! For years I've only washed it about once a week (normally the less you do the better), however I've been dealing with a lot of dry + itchy scalp issues. Washing more frequently can help so I'm going to give two or three times a week a shot. Washing/styling my hair "from scratch" is pretty time consuming so I think this one will be a little tricky for me.
  • ROTH IRA CONTRIBUTION - This is the final week to make any last minute contributions to a ROTH IRA/Traditional IRA for the 2020 year. I tend to spread my contributions out so I have one last little bit to add in this week! For more info on this, check out this post on Why You Need to Open a ROTH IRA Now.

Excited for what I hope will be a productive and calm week! I miss chatting with you all so I'm going to try to pop on IG more this week-- you can find me @TheKristenDiary. Also share what is on your to-do list for the week! I'd love to know what you are up to :)
