WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 5.20.24

Happy Monday, ya'll. I always love starting the week off with a little mental to-do list of what I have, need + want to do. Not only does it mentally prepare me for the week coming up, I also find I'm much more productive and likely to do what's on the agenda. It's also fun to share with you a little sneak peak of some of my non-work life. I think most of us are creatures of habit so you might notice these tend to look the same, however every once in awhile there's a wild card thrown in. Here are the highlights for this week:

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+NAIL FILL - As silly as this sounds, the highlight of my week is hands down tomorrow's nail appointment. I've been getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks which I normally love but I should've booked sooner for this set, ya'll. If you're a tip girlie, you know the struggle of cracks and lifting and right now I have three different nails that have been driving me NUTS. Definitely a silly first world problem, lol ;p

+GYM - Always on the agenda are my weekly OTF workouts. I decided to skip out on Mayhem this year and after seeing some of the workouts, I have no regrets lol. My goal is to go three times this week!

+CLEAN CAR - The Mazdarati is needing a little TLC so it's time for a little wash + vac. The pollen count right now is terrible- everyday my car just gets yellower! Cleaning the interior is also a great mental health boost- I feel way better when it's all fresh and clean.

+RECIPE TEST - I'm crossing my fingers on this one because I've had it on my to-do list for a few weeks now. I've been wanting to test out a healthier, greek-yogurt based chicken salad for lunch so I'm adding it to this week's agenda. I love chicken salad but a regular mayo-based version is a lot higher in fat + calories. I've found several with greek yogurt that I'm excited to try for something quick and higher in protein.

+SKATE PRACTICE - I've started skating again too! I guess I picked it back up a few weeks back so I've been practicing at night 2-3 times a week. It's so much fun and I'm slowly practicing new exercises and trying to perfect the basics.

+READ - This week I started 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson so I'm excited to dive into it a bit more this week. I love listening to him speak and I definitely find the book to be super interesting and enlightening. He has such a unique mind and perspective that's complex but still easy to engage with and understand.

What's on your agenda this week?

I love sharing my to-do lists with you! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 4.22.24

weekly-to-do-list-april-2024-the-Kristen-Diary-lifestyle-blog-oval-pink-soft-gel-x-nails

The current vibe-- what should I do tomorrow?

Today was definitely an "It's a Monday" kind of Monday. Between an early workout and a busy work day, I'm counting down the seconds until I'm back in my bed. Because I always have Tuesdays off, one thing I like to do on Monday nights is map out my to-do list for the rest of the week. I usually make a quick list in my notes app with any appointments or errands I have for the week. I also always feel the need to disclaim that these are random, "non-work" extracurricular activities or tasks I want to prioritize. Although I wouldn't mind it one bit, there is definitely a lot more going on in my days than what's on these lists. Counting down the days until I'm a hot SAH pilates mom! Lol ;) Back to my fun errands- they tend to be pretty monotonous, however every so often I find a wild card thrown in there. I guess we're all creatures of habit, huh? Also recurring is another pickle with Orangetheory that I've once again gotten myself into.

I've developed a bad habit of procrastination with my workouts this year and like to play a little game where I leave the majority of my class packs until the last week. This time that was five classes to do in eight days, LOL. I thankfully drug my butt out of bed this morning and knocked it down to four. I really need to get my sh*t together but until then, OTF is a top priority for this week. My game plan is to knock out at least two more classes this week- in a perfect world, three. That will leave me with just one or two for next week.

Also a top priority this week is to rest + get more sleep. I've been staying up way too late these last few weeks which I'm sure hasn't helped my gym motivation. Laundry + a sheet change is always on the list and I have a few returns to send back.

On to the fun- I have a nail appointment tomorrow which I'm very excited for! I always enjoy the experience and love freshening them up + changing to a new color. I'm also excited to start a new book this week, I just haven't decided which one yet. I took a bit of a hiatus after starting Credence and it's been a good month or so now. Ya'll, the book is just A LOT. I definitely have some mixed feelings, lol. I just needed a bit of a break and I think I need to dive into something a little more wholesome, haha. Right now I'm either thinking a Harry Potter re-read or On Dublin Street which is another cute (and a little steamy but not Credence steamy) romance.

I'm probably forgetting something but as of now, that's most of my random errands for this week!

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+OTF WORKOUTS
+NAIL FILL
+LAUNDRY/SHEETS
+RETURNS
+CATCH UP ON SLEEP
+START A NEW BOOK

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.25.24

Welcome back to another weekly to-do list of my extra-curricular activities. This week is also Holy Week leading up to Good Friday and Palm Sunday. I'm not entirely sure what my weekend and Easter Sunday looks like just yet, however most years my boyfriend and I go to church service and lunch afterwards. As I write this seemingly silly post on the little fun errands + things I have planned for the week, I'm also making space to reflect and embrace this week for it's true meaning and purpose. As a believer, daughter of God and lover of Jesus Christ, I'm eternally grateful for the history and the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for me and humanity. Without Him, we are lost. With Him, we have hope and a future. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave! Wishing you all a blessed and celebratory week ahead!

WEEKLY TO-DO'S:

+NAIL APPOINTMENT - Tomorrow I have an appointment for my first gel x fill. I'm currently on my second set of extensions so I'm excited to see how a fill goes + change out my color for Easter and the next few weeks.

+WORKOUT - Alright, I played a little catch up last week so now I just need to get in two more of my  Orangetheory workouts by the end of the month. Today I did a Strength 50 class which was the first one I've been to in awhile + was a nice change up from the regular 2G. I think I'm slowly starting to get my exercise groove back after being in a bit of a lull since the start of the year!

+BIRTHDAY SHOP - JJ's birthday is this Friday so tomorrow's agenda is to do a little more gift shopping for him + all of the birthday prep.

+BF'S BIRTHDAY DINNER - Also on the agenda this week is celebrating his birthday. We usually just do a nice dinner out somewhere which is always fun + a great occasion to dress up for!

+MOVIE DATE - I never made it to that solo movie date I wanted to do a few weeks back so I'm tentatively adding it to my list for tomorrow. I definitely think the current releases are a little underwhelming but I think I'd enjoy watching either the new Ghostbusters or a new one my theatre has called Snack Shack

+LAUNDRY - Ms. Laundry is the loyal bff you can always count on. She never leaves you high + dry, ya know? You can always count on her to have your back and be there, lol. As usual, it's a never-ending job and every week I try to get through most of the necessities + do a sheet change.

+WEEKLY CRUMBL - Okay, when I saw CARROT CAKE I immediately added trying this week's Crumbl cookies on to my to-do list. Gotta keep my priorities straight! As a huge fan of carrot cake, I have to have it. It looks so bomb + I just know it's gonna be a win. I'm also intrigued by the strawberry pretzel pie... definitely looking promising.

What do you have going on this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.4.24

Happy Monday, ya'll. I'm planning out my to-do list for the week and thought you might be interested in some of the highlights. I've been trying to play catch up on laundry + cleaning these past few weeks. I'm definitely in a spring cleaning mood and want to organize, purge + just freshen up my space. I'm also excited about having nice weather and plan to get outside more. Outside of work, there isn't too much going on for me this week which should give me a little more time to just relax and get a few things taken care of! Here's most of the excitement:

WEEKLY TO-DOS:

+NAILS - First on the fun agenda for this week is getting my nails fixed. I'm now on week three of my current set so it's time for a little refresh. With the exception of one that got pulled off when I tried to pry a pair of socks out of my drawer (lol, it was tragic but I was able to re-glue it back on!), they've held up really well + still honestly look really good. This time I'm thinking of doing a fun green color for a little St. Patty's + spring vibe.

+SOLO MOVIE DATE - I've definitely been in the mood to watch some movies lately so I want to either go to the movies this week or binge a few on Netflix! I'm definitely in the mood for some chick flicks or the new Madame Web move that just came out!

+PILATES - Alright, in my search for new ways to lower stress/cortisol levels, I decided it would be a good idea to start pilates. I'm sure that opinion will change once I actually start (lol), but I'm intrigued nonetheless. I also want to look like a pilates girlie... have you seen them? Sadly there are no pilates studios where I live so the plan is to start with a yoga mat + some entry level YouTube.

+WORKOUT - I'm still not back up to 100% when it comes to my Orangetheory motivation but the show is still going on. Last month I waited until the last minute to get most of my classes done which always sucks, lol. Definitely some self sabotage there but I just haven't been feelin' it these past few months. To try and break that, I'm going to push myself to do at least two classes this week so I can stay on a consistent schedule for the month.

+FINISH BOOK - I'm so excited to be back into my reading era- currently I'm reading The Psychology of Money. I would love to knock it out this week and then start on Credence for what I hear is an epic read... I'm still a little freaked out but we'll just have to see how it goes, hah.

+LAUNDRY - Same biotch, different day.

+CLEAN//ORGANIZE - See above, lol. I have been slowly purging old clothes + clutter at home. I also cleaned out my car last week which is always a win. Besides the normal laundry and cleaning this week, I need to shred a bunch of old paperwork/bills/etc. Sooooooo fun!

What do you have going on this week?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 3.27.23

Weekly-to-do-list-macbook-air-the-Kristen-Diary-blog

It feels like a good week for an updated "weekly to-do" list. Ya'll know I love making lists and I 100% think they make you more productive. The key for me is keeping them manageable by not putting too many things on the list. I also like to focus on the things that I either want or need to do, but that aren't necessarily daily habits. For me, this is things like going to workout or doing laundry. They are constantly popping up on my weekly schedule, however sometimes it takes a little extra resolve for me to get them done. I also make sure to add in fun things like going to the movies, shopping, etc. It's nice (and essential) to prioritize fun too. Sometimes it's easy to skip out on when life gets busy if you aren't intentional about making plans.

ON THE AGENDA:

+ ORANGETHEORY WORKOUT - OTF is starting to become a regular part of my Tuesdays, however I still have to push myself to go. Right now I'm just going once a week which for me is the easiest on an off day. Usually I prefer Tuesdays over the weekend so I push myself to get it out of the way first thing. Eventually I plan to add in more classes each week but for now I'm building up my once a week habit.

+ INFRARED SAUNA - I've also added in weekly sauna sessions too. I've always wanted to try out a sauna so I finally went for the first time a few weeks ago. It's great for preventing a lot of diseases in the body as well as for your immune system, sleep health, pain relief, relaxation + more. I've been doing 25 minute sessions after my workouts on Tuesday which has been so nice. It feels great and has been really relaxing but I'll keep you posted on my thoughts after going for a little while longer!

+ NEW COMPUTER SETUP - My sweet parents surprised me with a new computer this week! My laptop has been on it's last leg of storage full for about a solid two years now. I knew I would need to upgrade eventually but I figured I would just keep using mine until it died, lol. They surprised me with a new one last weekend so of course setting it up on is on my to-do for this week! THX Mom & Dad!

+ BIRTHDAY SHOP - It's JJ's birthday week which means lots of fun, cake + pressies for him. In true KP fashion, I still have a few things left to pick up for his present, lol. Guys are so hard to buy for which usually leaves me scrambling last minute. When in doubt, buy them the things they don't know they need! Haha!

+ CELEBRATE JJ'S BIRTHDAY - Obviously we'll be having our own little party for his actual bday too. I'm not sure what he'll want to do this year-- some years we've gone out for dinner, others we've just picked up takeout and watched a movie. What do you usually do on birthdays?

+ SHEETS & LAUNDRY - My least favorite part of the list, always. Lol. I actually enjoy the process of putting the laundry in the wash, I just hate the rest of it. IYKYK!

+ TAXES - The tax deadline is coming up, ya'll. I thankfully don't have to file my own, however this week I need to get everything together for my accountant. Here's your reminder if you haven't done yours yet because time is ticking. PS-- it's also a great time to make some last minute contributions to your ROTH/Traditional IRA if you plan to but haven't yet for 2022! Click here for why you need to open a ROTH IRA.

That's the gist of it! Think I can get it all done?

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 2.20.23

weekly-to-do-list-productivity-goals-the-Kristen-Diary-blog

Can you believe we're on our last full week of February?? I’m pretty sure I said this in a recent post but this entire month has felt like a blur & been all over the place for me. Going on a mini vacation and being sick completely threw off my routine over the last few weeks and I’ve been off track with a lot of my daily habits & goals.

With spring up ahead, I’m feeling inspired to make new progress and keep moving forward. It’s been tough trying to get back into the swing of things so I’m hoping this is the week we get there!

Making a to-do list always helps me outline what I want/need to do & gets me in the mindset to be productive. I usually include anything that I want, need or have to do. Here are some of my top goals & to-dos this week:

+ GET BACK ON THE HEALTHY TRAIN - It's long overdue for me to get back on the healthy train. Keeping it real- I've been struggling since the start of the New Year. I had good intentions of jumping back into eating cleaner but between my birthday, being sick, being gone & Valentine's Day- it's been a fail. My main goals are to cut back on the sugar/sweets, eat leaner + cleaner and have more meals at home.

+ GROCERY SHOP - To try and get back on the healthy train, going grocery shopping is on the agenda for tomorrow. I made breakfast at home today but gave myself permission to eat out for lunch since I didn't have anything healthy at home and I'm off tomorrow (aka, I will eat out). I need to pick up a few ingredients for breakfast + figure out something I can make for lunch W-F. PS-- I tried the Beach Club salad at Tropical Smoothie today. Really yum + a great healthier option for when you're eating out.

+ WORKOUT - I have one class left on my Orangetheory cycle for this month which is also on tomorrow's agenda. I always try to go on Tuesday mornings since I have the day off from work.

+ CLEAN & PURGE - Something I need need need to do is declutter & organize. I have so much crap laying around right now that I need to just deal with. My ideal goal is to clean out and make space to properly organize things and dare I say even leave room for something new?? Lol, I am always a work-in-progress on this one.

+ LAUNDRY - Never ends!

+ SELL SH*T - Despite having way too much, I’m also in a buying mood and want new clothes. That Spring fever is coming my way, lol. Instead of just buying new, I’m challenging myself to sell some of the clothing/things I no longer want & then allow myself to buy new with that money.

+ GO TO THE MOVIES - You can't forget to pencil in the fun stuff too! I've been meaning to go on a little movie date lately... hopefully tomorrow is the day. PS-- if you have an AMC, Tuesday is the best day to go. They do $5 tickets all day and it usually isn't too too crowded!

+ FINISH BOOK - I’m almost finished with The Chase by Elle Kennedy which has been a fun & easy romance read. The plan is to wrap it up this week and start something new. Because I’ve been feeling more inspired, I think I want to switch to something in the personal growth genre. Maybe The 5AM Club since I purchased it a few months back... have you read it?

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but those are my main objectives!

What's on your to-do list this week?

I love sharing my picks with you all! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST | 9.26 - 10.2

Can you feel the holiday rush starting to set in? With October right around the corner, I can already feel my schedule filling up both in + outside of work. This week is particularly busy, mainly because I have to take my car in for repair next week. A few months ago my poor Mazda was nailed and bailed on in the Panda Express parking lot (compliments of a nice U-Haul truck). I've been on a waiting list for months so I'm happy to finally get it fixed, however I feel like I have a million things to do before then, lol. Keeping a running to-do list always helps me stay focused (and WAY more productive) so I thought I'd share a few of my main objectives for the week.

If you're new to these posts-- I like to put both the big + little things on my lists. In my experience it's often the seemingly easy things that we're more likely to forget or put off. Most of the time I put things down that I really want/need to get done, that aren't part of my normal weekly routine or (in the case of laundry) are things I hate doing. Lol. Sometimes you need a little push, ya know? I also jot down what I need to pick up so I threw in a little shopping list too ;)

WEEKLY T0-DO LIST | FEB 28 - MARCH 6

After setting the Spring Goals that I shared in last week’s post, I’m setting my week up to be more productive with a to-do list. I like a list to remind me of both what I need to do + what I want to do. Last year I was good about jotting everything down in the notes app on my phone but somehow I got out of the habit during the holidays. It’s time to finally get back to it + start getting sh*t done!

Weekly-to-do-list

To catch you up, here’s how I like to lay things out on my to-do lists:

+ I choose my top non-work related goals or tasks for the week, typically no more than 5-10. I’ve found the more manageable + less overwhelming the list (aka, not putting TOO many things on it), the more likely it is that you’ll actually do what’s on it.

+ I make them as simple or as complex as I want! Sometimes I dread doing + put off even the easiest or most basic tasks. If it’s important to you + you want it done, write it down!

+ Checking off my progress. Whether you write it down or do it on your phone, check things off the list as you go. It feels great seeing your progress (and what you still need to get done) + it will motivate you to keep going.

+ I’m adding in a separate area for daily habits + intentions. These are things that I’m actively working on all the time or habits that I do (or try to do) every single day. Since they’re repetitive, I’m keeping them at the top as a constant reminder for throughout the week.

DAILY HABITS + INTENTIONS
+ Get 8 hours of sleep each night
+ Stay off of my phone immediately after waking up + during meals with friends and family
+ Take my vitamins
+ Walk 10K+ steps
+ Put up new blog posts (MWF)
+ Floss my teeth
+ Do the Wordle!

WEEKLY TO-DO LIST
+ Pay my car insurance
+ Wash my hair
+ Treat myself to a movie + lunch date
+ Finish my current book + start a new one
+ Make banana bread
+ Spend more time outside
+ Review my finances + quarterly goals

Outside of work, I don't have too many appointments or engagements happening. My main priority is to reset my schedule + find a better balance for my free time. I'm also hoping to be more mindful of healthy habits like getting more rest and eating well.

What's on your to-do list for this week?
