WEEKLY CRUMBL | 6.24.22

TGIF! My sista and I gave in and ordered this week's Crumbls. We've skipped the last several weeks so it was time. TBH I still have major FOMO from skipping last week... the Reese's and Twix ones are haunting me, guys. The ghost of cookies past. Definitely trying them the next time they come back. The excitement of this week is definitely the Honey Bun and Cosmic Brownie throwbacks. We were obsessed with the originals as kids so obviously we needed to get them. We also snagged the Blueberry Cheesecake + Cookie Butter Ice Cream, here's the rundown!

COOKIE LINE-UP

+ Honey Bun - I didn't think this one tasted that much like an actual honey bun but it was my favorite out of the group. It had a sweet, brown sugary flavor and the glaze on top was yummy. Overall it reminded me more of the brown sugar pop tarts (also my fave). If I were to order any of them again, it would be this one for sure.

+ Blueberry Cheesecake - Now on to my least favorite maybe? I think I had higher expectations on this one so it was a bit of a let down. I've always enjoyed their graham cracker cookie + cream cheese frosting combos but the blueberry topping didn't do it for me. It had too much of a wild blueberry flavor that I didn't care for with the sweeter icing. Everyone in my family tried them all and while I didn't love it, my dad said it was his favorite!

+ Galaxy Brownie - Very rich, very chocolatey. If you've had any of Crumbl's chocolate cookies, they all have a similar flavoring. Very cocoay and more on the bitter side. This one was okay. I was obsessed with Cosmic Brownies as a kid but I didn't get the same flavor or dense fudgey texture. Maybe because it was warm and more on the melty side. They also skimped a little on the candy topping which took away from the nostalgic look!

+ Cookie Butter Ice Cream - I liked this one. I haven't had one in years but I always loved the Biscoff cookies so I was excited to try it out. Definitely unique in concept but surprisingly more mild in flavor... not a super strong taste or impression for me. I did appreciate that it was chilled which gave it a little firmer texture. Nothing out of the ordinary for me but I enjoyed trying it out.

Overall I think it was just an off week for me and my tastes. I always appreciate trying different kinds- especially the ones that are not something I'd typically order. I think a lot of the times when we go in thinking we'll really like them all or certain ones they can turn out to be a letdown? I've definitely been surprised by a few of the ones that I really loved. It's always a fun adventure for sure. Have you tried any of them this week? Let me know what you thought if so. I'd love to hear what everyone likes since we do all have different tastes + preferences!

Happy Weekend!
