SELF-CARE SCHEDULE | 6.27.22


It feels like a good week for some extra self care. There’s been a lot of heaviness in the world lately and between that and whatever your own personal conflicts may be, it can be a lot. Sometimes I just feel like it's too much and I need to check out from everything for awhile. When that happens, I like to spend more time focusing on myself and the things that make me feel better. Here’s my to-do list for the week to take care of myself, rest + relax.

+ Read: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Last week I finished reading It Happened One Summer which re-lit a reading fire. It was so nice to focus my energy into a new book and I found myself feeling more optimistic. I think it’s important to have hobbies or places to go outside of our day to day responsibilities. Whether that’s through reading or something else, it can give you a greater purpose and enjoyment. I want to keep the habit going so my plan is to dive into The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo this week.

+ Shop for staples
I've officially reached the "I have nothing to wear" stage with my wardrobe. My style is always casual + easy but all of my go-to staples are on their last leg. It feels like a good week to splurge on some new tees + bike shorts. I've also had my eye on this pair of Birki's-- what do you think? 

+ Watch: Gilmore Girls
I've been debating on starting a new show or re-watching Gilmore Girls. Whenever I need a little pick me up, it always feels good to watch something familiar and comforting. I haven't seen the show in years so it feels like an appropriate summertime watch. Needing something light + fun right now! 

+ Improve Sleep
My Oura ring came in the mail last week so I've been testing it out for a few days now. It's been super interesting to get all of my sleep data and I'm working on boost my sleep + overall score. The areas I need the most improvement in right now are going to bed earlier and increasing REM sleep. Stay tuned for a little unboxing post coming later this week. 

+ Order a milkshake 
Sometimes ya just need one, ya know? Dreaming about Cookies & Cream from Chicky as we speak!

+ Clean car
I wrote a post awhile back talking about how much of a difference I feel when my car is clean. There's something about it that just makes me feel better mentally + that I have my life together. Adding it on my list to *hopefully* get done this week. 

+ Sudoku 
Every now and then I like a little mental challenge or puzzle. I got out of my daily wordle routine + have started back up on Sudoku. I like to do the expert level because I get tripped up and they take me longer to solve. Hoping one day I can breeze through them like the other levels! 

That's what my weekly agenda is looking like in terms of self-care. I still make sure to walk 10K+ steps a day and I've been working on my water intake. I think it's nice to do the "good for your health" things + a few of the "good for your soul" things.
