DRUGSTORE BEAUTY ESSENTIALS HAUL

Hellllooooo, we're haulin' today. What started as a pickup order for deodorant and epsom salt ended with two bags full of "essentials" and -$54. But really who am I to say no to a free $5 gift card when all I have to do is spend $30 (*ahem, $54*)?? Girl math says that's leaving money on the table + we can't have that, right? Target runnnnn and doneeee (on us, lol).

On a slightly more serious note- some of these things actually are essentials and the sad reality of adulthood is that buying necessities is basically a form of entertainment at this point. Lol- IYKYK.

Actually serious now- let's get into the good stuff. Epsom salt + deodorant: the reason for the spree-son. Ya'll know my bath obsession requires some of the good doctor's bubble bath and epsom salt so I grabbed a few bags of Dr. Teal's in fragrance free + my favorite pink Himalayan. I also don't think I ever shared a deodorant update but I finally cracked a few months ago and switched back to the Secret Clinical. I was on 1-2 years of only "natural" and clean deodorants but between the gym and the summer heat, it was just too much. I think if your days are less physically demanding, you can still make it work with some great options like the Salt & Stone which I still love.

For where I'm at in life right now, I just had to give it up. I'll still rotate my S&S on lighter activity days and maybe some during in the cooler months but for now I've gone back to my tried-and-true favorite for everyday.

I also got an itch to go back to using makeup remover wipes and Aveeno was always my go-to. I use to love the Ultra Calming Wipes which I believe are now the Calm + Restore. I grabbed a pack of those and the Positively Radiant. Also from Aveeno- this Therapeutic Shave Gel which I've also never tried.

I love + repurchased the St. Ives Shea & Oatmeal Body Wash and on impulse- this EOS Hand Cream and a mini Nivea Creme. Had to secure that $5 gift card! In reality, I'll be needing them once the cold weather hits.

DRUGSTORE ESSENTIALS HAUL

I needed to replenish a few beauty // personal care items this week so I have a little drugstore haul to share with you. Like with deodorant, I've been trying out a lot of different toothpastes to find a healthier alternative. One of the brands I've been excited to test out is David's. Their toothpaste is formulated with natural ingredients free of artificial flavors, preservatives, colors and sweeteners. I picked up the Whitening Peppermint which is also fluoride and sulfate free. Because everything seems to run out all at once, I also needed floss + mouthwash. I tend to avoid using mouthwash regularly, however every once in awhile I like to use it for whitening or just to do a little mouth refresh. Therabreath does a great job and is alcohol free which I appreciate.

Alright, we're entering into TMI territory but who am I to deny you the full haul experience?? LOL. On a real note, I needed to replenish this week so here we are. I will shoutout Always for always being my go-to brand. Hehe. If you haven't tried the Infinity or Pure Cotton line, both are great. Way more comfortable and they get the job done. I'll also add that the overnight ones are a total GAME CHANGER. You seriously need to try! I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little silly the first time trying (there's a lot going on if you know what I mean, LOL) but totally worth it.

Last on my list is the Differin Daily Deep Sensitive Skin Cleanser with Benzoyl Peroxide. I think I mentioned this a few weeks ago but I was influenced by Dr. Dray to give this a try. It's made to be an acne face wash, however she uses it on her underarms to help prevent bacteria + odors instead of wearing deodorant. Because I've definitely had a colorful experience trying out natural deodorants, I was intrigued by this. I definitely don't plan on giving up deodorant, however I'm interested to see if this will make the natural ones more effective. Since trying out cleaner deodorants, I've also known I'm much more prone to bumps and rashes which has honestly been one of the worst parts of trying to find a cleaner deodorant. It definitely feels counterintuitive and while I haven't pinpointed exactly what causes that, I'm hoping this may help prevent it in some way.
