WHAT I'VE BEEN WATCHING LATELY

In last month's What I've Been Watching, I updated you all that I'd started watching Gilmore Girls on my own and The Terminal List with JJ. Gilmore Girls has been a rewatch for me and I'm happy to share it's still one of my all-time faves. It has an added nostalgic factor to it now but is as witty and charming as ever. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and start binging on Netflix ASAP! Totally worth it. JJ and I also finished up the first season of The Terminal List this past weekend. It's a thriller series on Amazon Prime based on the book series by Jack Carr. It follows a Navy SEAL (played by Chris Pratt) whose entire platoon is killed in an ambush overseas. There ends up being way more to the story and a lot of players behind the scenes. Pratt's character returns home to uncover the truth and hunt down those responsible for the attack.

JJ has read several of the books so I've enjoyed watching it with him. I think that if I'd started it on my own, I probably would have lost interest after the first episode or two. It's a little slow to start and has a very dark vibe overall. I think it's decent, however nothing I'm in love with. JJ also commented he thought it would be a little bit better, but I'm sure that we'll still watch the next season if it comes out.

I haven't been watching a ton of movies lately but there have been these few:

+ Where the Crawdads Sing - I'm proud of myself for reading the book in time to go see Where the Crawdads Sing in theaters. I liked the movie- I think they did a pretty good job of bringing the book to life on screen. The storyline was unlike anything I've personally read before which was refreshing. I don't want to spoil too much but it's worth a watch. If you also like to read, I'd start with the book first. While not necessary, it had a lot more details (they always do!) which I think made me enjoy and understand the movie more.

+ Horrible Bosses - JJ and I rewatched Horrible Bosses a few weekends ago which is one of my favorite comedies. It's always a good time if you need something light + are in the mood to laugh!

+ Bullet Train - Brad had be all excited for this one but it was a no go for me, ya'll. I only read the synopsis and thought it would be the normal action/hitman type of flick. Definitely NOT the case. It's eccentric, a little quirky and out there, lol. Not the worst thing I've seen but definitely nowhere near the best. I think that comes down to not really knowing what it was about but expecting to enjoy it because Brad? Not for me so watch at your own risk!

What have you been watching lately?
