Has anyone actually lived their hot girl summer yet? Asking for a friend... LOL. 😏 Real talk - I'm definitely guilty of letting loose in the summer and all those extra snacks and margaritas add up. With fall approaching, it’s time to get it right and get it tight. I’m all about slimming down when I feel I need to, however I’m also constantly working on ways to be healthier beyond losing weight. I’ve started working on these for the past few weeks so y’all better watch out... fit girl fall is coming. Lolllll. Do you have any health or fitness goals right now? If you're also needing some motivation (I know I do), I hope this post will help inspire you to keep moving + make it happen!
+ 10K EVERY DAY
For the past two weeks, I've been walking at least 10,000 steps every day. My original goal was to just do it for a week but I haven't stopped. The main reasoning is to move and be more active, however burning a few extra calories is a nice added bonus! Wearing my Fitbit has kept me accountable 100%. Obviously it's impossible to accurately track your steps without a tracker, however it also serves as a constant reminder throughout the day. I'm always checking notifications or my step count which motivates me to keep moving to make it to my goal. I also know from past experience that if I forget to wear it, it's game over. Every night before bed I make sure to charge it + I set a reminder on my phone to put it back on once I wake up.
+ LOSE 15LBS
I haven't been very motivated by my "I need to start cutting back" mindset so I'm setting a specific goal to work towards. I don't get too caught up on my weight or needing to be a certain number on the scale, however I know I feel my most comfortable and confident when I'm about ten pounds lighter than my current weight. I'm going to break this down in chunks so my first goal is to try and get off the 6-7lbs I've gained this year and go from there. If you're interested in what helps me lose weight, check out How I Lost 30 LBS in this post.
+ CUT OUT SUGAR
Hoping to kill two birds with one stone here. The only good thing about sugar is how it tastes. That's bad news for me because I have a HUGE sweet tooth. Cookies, candy, ice cream... you name it, I love it. While I know I can be really good with moderation, I'm confident that I still eat way more sugar than is healthy. It's hidden in a lot of foods that aren't obvious which makes it difficult to cut out 100%. My goal is to lower my intake of refined + processed sugar as much as I realistically can. Hoping to be healthier, lower any inflammation I might have + stay on track with my weight loss goals.
+ REST & RECOVER
One of my biggest challenges is getting enough rest + sleep at night. I've always been a night owl so I'm usually up late working, writing a blog post (spoiler alert-- it's 12:39am right now) or wasting time on Tik-Tok. Even when I'm tired, I fight with my body when I know I need to rest. I think a lot of it has to do with detoxing from the day-- it's my alone time to relax + decompress. I know the importance of sleep for my mental, physical and emotional well-being so I'm going to work on figuring it out. Send tips if you have them!!
Those are what I’m working on at the moment. I’m always challenging myself to do better when it comes to clean eating, health + fitness. I think it’s all about balance but working towards more consistent, lifestyle changes.
I love sharing my goals with you all! Should you click on or make a purchase through the links in this post, I'll earn some money to keep on shopping! Pretty cool, huh? :)
